Kyle said he had a vibration on those final laps. Although, Brad was super fast on the closing laps.

The FerHaasi!

Haas-Ferrari

Haas F1 team principal Gunther Steiner was asked, "How many Americans does Haas F1 actually employ?"

Quote:
“The team has 110 people in our three locations,” he says. “In addition to that, we have 70 engineers under contract in Italy. We are working with Dallara. We picked them because we knew that they are good. Haas Italia has the same address as Dallara, but a group of their guys are contracted to us, even if they all work in the same design office.

“Our Aero Group goes to Ferrari to use their wind tunnel. So we have a total of about 180 people working on the project. Of this number, 60 are in England, 40 are in the United States and between five and 10 of our people are in Italy, depending on what is happening. Of the 110 who work directly for us, 35 are Americans, but that doesn’t mean that all of these people are based in the U.S. We have had an influx of foreign engineers who are working with our CFD (computational fluid dynamics) department here in Charlotte. We have a lot of different nationalities. We have a Ph.D. from Indonesia, for example, two French guys and others. But we also have Americans who are based in the U.K. One of the race engineers is an American. He has been in F1 f*or quite a while.”

The American engineer on board is Gary Gannon, a Cornell graduate who worked with Honda Performance Development in CART and IRL before moving to the U.K. in 2009 with Wirth Research, an organization originally involved in the Marussia F1 team. When the two parties split, Gannon stayed on at Marussia and most recently was Max Chilton’s race engineer.

Another American engineer for Haas F1 is Lawrence Burch, who learned the ropes in IndyCar and then moved to NASCAR. He is based in Banbury, England.

“We have got American engineers who have come to work for us here in Charlotte,” Steiner says, “but they don’t have to be in the U.K., and so we don’t have problems with visas and so on.”

There are also those who have switched to the F1 project from the Stewart-Haas Racing NASCAR team: notably, the team’s technology vice president, Matt Borland, who previously worked with PacWest in Champ Car before moving to NASCAR with Penske.

On the organizational side, Haas F1’s COO is Joe Custer, another man who transferred into the F1 team from the NASCAR operation.

The team is an eclectic bunch, and even some of the Americans have unusual backgrounds. The team’s marketing manager, Cassie Duncan, has an MBA from the University of Edinburgh Business School in Scotland, while a CFD engineer has a degree earned in Advanced Motorsport Engineering from the U.K.’s Cranfield University.

The Haas F1 press officers are both British, but the chief marketing officer is an American—Adam Jacobs, a former Anheuser-Busch sponsorship executive.
Steiner admits that, at the moment, there are no Americans in the pit crew.
“Moving racing mechanics to the U.K. is a big step, and we really want experienced F1 guys who can get it right straight away,” he says. “However, if we have the talent we need in America, of course we can feed it into the team later.”

The car looks good. The driver, Romain Grosjean is racing with Pirelli Intermediate Green tyres.

This is a brand new tyre for this year, Ultrasoft purple. They will bring it out in Canada in June.

In F1, approximately 20 pit crew members go over the wall. They hold the car in the air; while they adjust the front wing, replace small parts, 4-tyre change, refuel, and clear debris from the car. 2-second pit stops are routine. F1 describes it as a beautifully choreographed dance in super fast motion. They are amazing to watch.

Formula 1 generates revenue from race fees, global broadcasting deals, sponsorships, merchandise, and other marketing rights.

The cost of hosting a Grand Prix ranges from the most expensive $70 million per race in the Middle East and Asia to the cheapest, Italy $12 million, Canada $20 million. The Grand Prix races in Europe and United States ranges from $35 million to $50 million per year. Each year the cost rises 5%.

Governments bankroll F1 races as they promote tourism to their countries to the 450 million TV viewers who watch the race.

Promoter’s sole income comes from ticket sales. According to KXAN, Circuit of the Americas in Austin, Texas 'estimated F1's economic impact at $750 million in free media exposure.' Close to 200,000 people, usually travel to Austin for the four-day event in October.

Last year, Texas cut $6 million dollars of funding used to help COTA with hosting fees. In 2015, the promoter suffered heavy losses in revenue due to heavy rains during the four-day event. 'COTA ended months of uncertainty' last week by coming up with $35 million dollars race fees, reported by KXAN.

Taylor Swift will have a concert the night before the race. The race must sellout to make up for last year's losses. It COTA fails to meet its revenue goals for 2017, F1 will no longer be able to race in the U.S. by ripping off Austin, Texas.

Doha News had an article on Formula 1 and how the country is waiting for F1 officials to give them a race date in the future.

Someone left this comment and picture below the article in Doha News - I died...

"We already have the F1 in Qatar. I see it every day on the roads!"

"Imagine the death toll before and after the race on the roads to the circuit."

Another person left this comment (above) right after the first comment above the picture...Too funny!

Awesome with the slow start to see Penske go 1,2 and Ryan Blaney a defacto Penske driver 6th!

Both Penske drivers should do well in Phoenix...

However, they have to beat Harvick or Jimmie for the win. Harvick has seven wins in Phoenix followed by Jimmie with four.

I could really think of some great places to hold a race in and Austin isn't at the top of the list. Cities like Miami and San Diego would be cool. The backdrop of San Fran would be epic. And even KC's new downtown would be cool (even if tht's because I'm a homer for KC!!). And lord knows Detroit could use the money, and is motor city!

I just wish they'd do it because I like it... And the Indy car series' failure doesn't matter, they aren't F1...

Miami Dolphins owner Stephen Ross who is teaming up with Qatari investors to buyout both CVC Capital Partners and Bernie Ecclestone - which owns Formula 1. Ross would bring F1 to the states.

The sport is valued at $8 to $10 billion and Qatar has enormous wealth. The 85-year-old Ecclestone would like to sell by next March - so he says.

Scuderia Ferrari are looking to expand in the United States. Gene Haas will be working on his Scuderia FerHaasis’ in North Carolina.

Propaganda in the U.S. has Americans thinking that the Gulf States in the ME are third world countries. I've been to Bahrain - The country is beautiful.

Short 2 minute video of Bahrain Grand Prix using F1 standard technology.

Race times start at twilight.

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ahqK...layer_embedded Click here to see Bahrain Grand Prix.

0:19 Fernando Alonso (in red) - aguably the greatest driver in F1. His starts and first laps are consistently amazing. McLaren

0:20 Lewis Hamilton (in white) - Mercedes

0:23 Bernie Ecclestone (grey hair)

0:28 Daniel Ricciardo (in black) - Red Bull Racing

0:30 Nico Rosberg (white) - Mercedes

0:32 Toto Wolff (in white) - Owner of Mercedes F1 team.

1:27 Special electronics - Paddock building

1:29 Ferrari's synchronized (swimming team) pit stop.

FYI: Teammates Fernando Alonso and Jenson Button two huge superstars stuck in slow McLaren-Honda race cars. It's a shame.

NASCAR's horse an pony show is about to start -

Chris Meyers
Darrell (Motor mouth #1) Waltrip, and including all that 'boogie' shit.
Mikey Waltrip (Motor mouth #2)
Jeff Gordon

FOX 3:00-3:30 (?) p.m. EST

Next Week F1:

2015 Top 5 Overtakes

Edit: (Ranked #1) The Hungarian GP - Sebastian Vettel would kick Hamilton's ass every time if he was driving for Mercedes... Seb talent wise, runs rings about Lewis Hamilton.

This is why F1 fans do not like Hamilton, well except for the Brits - Hamilton is in back of teammate Rosberg - Hamilton tries to overtake him and on the team's radio blames Rosberg for his own mistake of going over the line - Mercedes team owner Toto Wolff looks on in disgust...Hamilton cannot fool that guy. Lewis is such a dork.

Meyers: K.C. Royals on Thurs. Talking about your boys.

J.C. over 14 second pit stop for my boy - Unbelievable... Kyle's crew is usually super fast.

Damn, F1 would have built a whole damn car on a pit stop for that many seconds.

Hey, PackerMO

This is Harvick's race to lose. Any of the top eight has a change depending on different variables going forward. Nevertheless, it is hard to beat out Harvick at Phoenix.
