Very few non-bronco fans can tolerate him. he creates inane threads that are homeristic in nature (his avatar is very apropos), and nobody loves him (not even his own mother)

'face, this can be the home for all knowmo threads so we aren't treated to the bi-weekly steaming 'presents' left by the front door.

Shitty decision-maker, weird-looking release on his throws (but not necessarily a slow release), Cassel-like cluelessness when reading coverages...

Yeah ALL the tools

Ten bucks says Elway drafts another QB in the second round in 2013 and kicks Assweiler to the curb as soon as he realizes how much the dude sucks

He is really young. He might be the second youngest player picked in the draft (after Ronnie Hillman). He can get better at the nuances of the QB position, he might not, but it would be foolish to just write him off. I mean he will be spending the next 5 years of his NFL career in the same meeting room with Peyton Manning, and John Elway will be in Denver long after Peyton is retired.

All of Peyton's former backups went on to do great things and talk about how great of a mentor and teacher he was...

Do you really think he is going to play 5 seasons in DEN?

None of Peyton's backups were brought in to eventually replace him. They never got the reps needed to improve and they certainly were never drafted in the second round. Brock has the talent and the Broncos want him to be their QBOTF.

Manning will play at least 3 years. But I wouldn't be totally shocked if he played 5.

You know I like Decker. Always have. I said he would be a fantastic NFL WR back when I watched him with the Gophers.

He's kind of flimsy, though. I think of him as the Donk version of Moeaki. He's a great player, he really is. When he's healthy.

Bowener hit on it. It's not like Sorgi and Painter had zero skills coming into the league. They were still in the same meeting rooms and had the benefit of the same coaches and knowledge as Manning. In the end, yes, they never were meant to play in the league, but it's ridiculous to say that Manning didn't give a flying **** about them, yet all of a sudden he's going to be Obi-wan to ****ing Osweiler? Please.

Take a cue from great QBs Joe Montana, Trent Green, Dan Marino, Brett Favre, and numerous others. Starting QBs don't ****ing care about their backups. They might like them as people and hang out with them after practices. They might even be lifelong friends. But it's not their ****ing jobs to coach them along. They aren't coaches, they're PLAYERS. First and foremost. I imagine Manning has enough on his goddamn plate trying to build this offense as quickly as possible. He doesn't have time to babysit Assweiler.
