Pretty much this. Ok ONE MORE THING. Koetter is the worst OC on the planet at giving his defense a favorable situation in close games or games where he is down.

Dirk @ ASU: Record was 40–34; held a 1–11 rec against top 10 teams & was 2–19 against ranked teams. W/Jags: Yuck. W/ATL: MATT RYAN (gift)

Koetter left for a few reasons. One was the bitch AD Lisa Love that ASU hired. While a lesbo herself, she had a crush on Dennis Erickson.

Dirk is not ready for this role. It's just an interview guys.

I don't know why its a bad idea to INTERVIEW the OC of the best team in the league. It would be dumb not to at least give him a look to see what he's about.

Hate the Pioli connection though.. I want Pioli gone.

Slow down, turbo.

Dirk spent several years at Mizzou - lots of guys around here probably recall the Dirk Koetter days in the early 90s.

If you want an innovator, you want pretty much anyone else. This guy is as whitebread and milquetoast as they come.

He's an excuse to keep Pioli and nothing more. He's damn sure not someone that knows enough about personnel to think that he's going to usurp control over player personnel from Scott Pioli.

If it's Koetter, you know that nothing has changed.

He had ONE season with the Falcons. He came in when that team was alreadyeshed together. Plus he had Matt Ryan. Why does he deserve a promotion? He didn't do shit in Jacksonville.

Dude, did Koetter piss in your cereal or something? You're way off base here. What the hell was he supposed to do in Jax? His RB was his ONLY player and his head coach was a conservative defensive asshole that tied his hands. It's now coincidence his new team has their best record to date. Del Rio and Gene Smith killed the Jags, not Koetter.

It's also a coincidence that he has a shit ton of talent and he still wasn't blowing out teams?

Ok Mike. But despite your ignorance I don't want the other Chiefs fans to have to deal with him just so you can eat crow.

I had season tickets to the Jags up until 2 years ago and I agree with you 100% about Koetter. His offense was so blah and vanilla it was ridiculous. The guy is just a journeyman retread that can never be anything more than a middle of the road coordinator.

As soon as I heard OC for Atlanta my immediate reaction was, "Hell No!", I'd rather have someone that is only proven to be good with great talent.
