***Official Knowmo2724 homer-2000 thread***

Very few non-bronco fans can tolerate him. he creates inane threads that are homeristic in nature (his avatar is very apropos), and nobody loves him (not even his own mother)

'face, this can be the home for all knowmo threads so we aren't treated to the bi-weekly steaming 'presents' left by the front door.

Seriously, I loved watching TD. I think he's great.

But he is seriously Arian Foster. Same. Exact. Runner.

Repeatedly.
It wouldn't surprise me if Knowmo is one of those people who says Warner isn't a HOF QB but Terrell Davis is a HOF RB.

Seriously, it would surprise me if he thought Cassel was shitty.

Knowmo is a moron.

If I asked you after Super Bowl 32 if you thought TD would be a HOF'er you would say yes, and you would probably say he would make it in on the first ballot. The dudes body gave up on him.

Four years of absolute dominance with even better playoff and Super Bowl performances should make TD a lock.
logic never has been your strong suit, has it? you've given us the textbook definition of moving the goalposts. you were making the case that he'd be among the all-time greats. sure, if you give him some (what amounts to) garbage-time stats in some injury plagued years (he'd have been lucky to average 800 yards per year the way the broncos rode him--like a rented mule). at that point, domination would have been long-since gone. while the guys you try to compare him to just got stronger, TD is going downhill in this scenario.

so, while his fire flashed bright, he was simply (EVEN IN THIS PLAY-WORLD OF YOURS) never good enough for long enough to be an all-time great.

to have been an all-time great, he'd have had to have been paced a bit by the broncos coaching staff... 30 less carries per year MAY have put him on that track--but we'll never know. and you, sir, can continue to masturbate to dreams of TD if you'd like... the rest of us here in reality-land don't give a **** about your wet diaper.

you're completely missing the point. if my aunt had balls, she'd be my uncle. HE NEVER WOULD HAVE MADE IT THAT LONG WITHOUT THE BRONCOS LIGHTENING HIS WORKLOAD. THERE IS A REASON HE BROKE DOWN, DUMBASS.

let's put it this way... from 1996-1998, he had (JUST IN THE REGULAR SEASON) ~1100 carries. find me ANY stretch early in an 'all-time great' career where they were ridden that hard. that does NOT include playoff carries, nor does it include pass receptions.

when you consider total rushes WITH the playoffs, he averaged over 400 carries per year. do yourself and everyone a favor and go look up the stat about RBs who have over 400 carries EVEN IN A SINGLE YEAR--their careers are essentially over after that ONE year. it was almost ****ing miraculous that he hung on as long as he did, dumbass. what you guys did was equivalent to a baseball team leaving out a pitcher for 200 pitches per game repeatedly--the body breaks down regardless of brilliance, and his performance/health are never the same again.

tell ya what... I'll find you the perfect comparison for TD. Earl ****ing campbell. he was an AMAZING RB (never had a QB, but that's a different story). look at his carries. note how they drop off after 1981. he had one more good year left (1983), but he was never the dominant FORCE he was early in his career, before he'd been ridden hard and left out to dry.

Here's a fun fact about Earl Campbell:

He's in the Hall of Fame.

I wonder if Warner would have came here with Haley if Pioli never made the deal for Cassel...

Warner kind of wanted to die at the end of the Super Bowl. He played another year to give it one more shot. After that he was for sure done.

here's another fun-fact about earl campbell--he didn't break down like terrell davis. presuming that TD had gone on for a few more years and gotten earl campbell-like production, I wouldn't argue with his HOF credentials. I'd rubber stamp them myself.

until then, though, the world of make-believe is where this belongs.

HOF voters ask themselves, "Can you tell the story of the history of the NFL without mentioning _______ ________'s name?" With TD, the answer is no. With Priest Holmes the answer is yes. TD certainly deserves the HOF over a guy like Curtis Martin.

Certain people's bodies react differently. LT was pounded into the dirt, so was Emmit Smith, Walter Peyton and nearly every other old school, every-down RB.
