Off Season Lets Talk Guns

Been a while since we had a guns n' ammo discussion.

Some of you are AR shooters Im sure. Im looking at a Colt 6920. Will be my first AR. Picked up a Glock this fall and really enjoy shooting it. Any feedback on that weapon?

Anyone else been in a buy/sell/trade mood with hardware?

It is a cheap Bushnell.

Besides, a Mosin isn't accurate enough to require good optics.

Midway has this in stock:

http://www.midwayusa.com/product/559...10-boxes-of-50

$0.13/round before tax and shipping. I may just find a few 50 rd boxes for plinking and wait for ammo prices to come down before any bulk buys.

$190 for a can of 1080 rounds. Maybe I should trade in my 556 for an AK74

Too expensive.

I've got some bricks of .22 stashed away. I just don't want to use any of it until prices come down and its easy to find.

I thrive for a lot more accuracy than what a Mosin Nagant can give me with surplus ammo.

I am talking about 1000 yard shots, not 100 yard shots inside of city ruins.

If you want accuracy at longer ranges work up some custom loads and see what they do . Does the rifle have a good barrel? Clean deep lands and grooves? Is the bolt action crisp does it lock up well? Is the trigger pull smooth and easy with a crisp break? If these thing are ok then the rifle is capable of good performance at medium to long ranges.

100 yd shots are done with std rifles no sniper necessary.
A true highly accurate long range rifle is a very expensive piece of gear.

I really don't have the motivation to dig into reloading 7.62x54 right now.

I already own an AR-10NM and a 30A1338 that is pretty tough to beat. I am a prude when it comes to group size. One of these days I might get bored and put some work into the old beast, but for now it will collect dust.

The trigger on the Waffen Werks AK 74 is pure badass. No creep whatsoever.

I know a lot of people that buy the XDs45, but I have not seen anyone sell theirs (except for dealers).

On the Oklahoma gun facebook group, there's usually one every week. They never say anything negative about it so I'm not sure why they want to sell them.
