We're a better team with him obviously & my fingers are crossed that he's able to be healthy and play this Sunday. If Chiefs lose, it won't be because Hill was out.
Hill's impact as a decoy cannot be overstated. Teams have to account for him on every play. And let's not act like his 80 catches for 1200 yards pace isn't damn productive in its own right.

He'd be an enormous loss.

He makes every player on the field more effective. While that's not exactly taking over a game in the Calvin Johnson sense, it's not far removed.

His ability to take the top off defenses keeps guys out of the box and the respect teams have to give him creates space on underneath routes. I don't think its a coincidence at all that the offense has freed up a great deal as he's been inserted in the lineup.

He's had an enormous impact on this offense, IMO.

I believe it can be overstated and you just did it. I like your passion though. If Hill doesn't play and the Chiefs lose, you can have all my casino cash.

Most are. In many cases by agents. Look at the plyometric training, etc... Teams aren't mandating it, but if you want to stay employed you'd better be the biggest/fastest/strongest option available to your employer.

If you're not a guy going out there in the offseason going to clinics to improve your explosion/athleticism, you're losing ground to people that are coming to take your job.

Overtraining may also play a role - these guys aren't taking February/March off like they used to. They're going out there and doing speed/strength training in the off-season because the era of non-guaranteed contracts and rookie salary scales says that if they don't, a younger, cheaper model may be sitting in their locker in short order.

You'd be hard pressed to find a player that's not doing those plyometric exercises and circuit training (high intensity, low rest) exercises.

Watch the post-game breakdowns from guys like Baldinger, Jacobs, Keyser, etc... every week. You can see how much those jet actions are pulling safeties and how much shading Hill is getting.

That guy's making a big, big difference out there. He's a huge part of what allows Andy to do some of the exotic stuff he's doing because he's among the few guys on the field (or really in the NFL) that can go against anyone in the league in a man up situation and just physically win the matchup. That's a coach's nightmare and makes this offense much more difficult to stop.

I hope it doesn't happen but maybe DAT can fill in and surprise us all. I certainly hope Hill is starting though - and I'd imagine he will. Why the tweet at 5pm EST though? Doesn't practice end at 3pm EST??

Could this be a smoke screen from Andy to Todd? I'm just asking, here.

True. But DAT is a similar player. Not as fast or thick, but similar. He scored a touchdown last week on a jet sweep. Hill didn't score. DAT can fill a in for one game while coaches adjust the game plan. (No he's not equal to Hill, but close enough for our home game vs. Steelers.) Too much chicken little around here. I'll be happy to give you all my casino cash if I'm wrong.

Todd don't coordinate the Steelers D and has no earthly idea how the Chiefs run their offense at this point.

If Andy's sending messages to Todd Haley, I think he's missing the mark. Moreover, there's no point - the Steelers have no choice but to prepare as though Hill will be there.

Maybe not Todd exactly, but that would be awesome. Breaking the rules, but awesome. A win over the Steelers would be a nice mouse in Haley's salad. Payback for the 19 - 26 record he had in KC.
