any 34 defense needs some pass rush production from the RDE position, whether it's just a few sacks per season but also includes some consistent pressure on the QB.

In the meantime... DEREK WOLFEZ!!!!111
3-4 DEs with 5 or more sacks:

Watt
Antonio Smith
Calais Campbell
Corey Liuget
Quinton Coples
Haloti Ngata
Muhammed Wilkerson
Kendall Reyes

KC's entire DL: 5 sacks

I'm not entirely sure why you guys seem to think that saying "Derek Wolfe" is some sort of argument against the talent in Denver. Do you know what Wolfe played last season? He played 5-tech in base and 3-tech in nickel. You may recognize those as typical responsibilities for a 3-4 DE, not a 4-3 DE.

So, playing the same position as Tyson Jackson, Wolfe outperformed your entire DL, collectively. As a rookie.

I want to make sure I'm understanding your sentence structure properly. Are you saying that Charles is elite, or are you saying that Charles, Bowe, Hali, Houston, Johnson, Flowers and Berry are elite?

Pretty hard to get sacks on the QB when your primary job is to hang out, diagnose the play for a few seconds, then occupy the right blockers and gap.

Derek Wolfe is an argument because Knowmo probably thinks he's better than JJ Watt. He's just as much of a homer whack off for Donk fans as KC is for players like Albert. Far worse in fact, since he's only a rookie.

Have you heard of Dwayne Bowe. I agree the WR group as a whole is not great, but Dwayne Bowe is a beast.

Pass rushers...again agreed, but they are better than the past couple of years would suggest.

My BOLD prediction....the Chiefs will finish in the top 1/2 of NFL team sacks in 2013.

None of us know if this DL has any pass rushers because Romeo Crennel ran a 3-4 two gap stand up read and reach defense that blitzed less than 20% of the downs. I suspect we will see the Chiefs have much more ability to pass rush from the DL then any of us realized. Going to a 3-4 one gap penetrating defense is a whole different beast.

This is why I hated Crennel as a DC as much as I hated Daboll as an OC. Both schemes sucked more than any system the Chiefs have deployed in their history. Even the days of Marv Levy and the Wing-T were better than the schemes deployed on offense and defense last year. The players act as much relieved as excited by the change. We may even see Tyson Jackson turn into a beast.

Yeah, there's a lot of talk about defensive scheme and attacking. Reminds me of every off-season for Denver from 2006-2008. It never made a difference though, because we didn't have the players.

So you're referencing a player that Knowmo "probably" overrates in a response to me. OK.

Fair enough, you've certainly been here long enough to make that call. Imho if you are talking football and back your opinions with facts you aren't trolling.

I'm here to talk football. Do I enjoy the fact that my opinions differ from nearly everyone else on here? Yes, I do. Talking with people you agree with is boring.
