What's funny is we only seem to do bad against the Indians in the central. Decent record against the other teams.

The biggest part of that is that Ned Yost is stuck on the idea that Tim Collins gives him a big advantage in lefty-on-lefty matchups. Collins is 0-3 against the Indians this year. In 3 1/3 IP over 7 appearances (yes, seven... so he's lasting less than 2/3 of an inning in most outings), he has given up 7 ER, the Indians are hitting a robust .462 against him, and he has given up 4 BBs versus just 2 Ks. Of course, part of the issue is that Ned doesn't understand splits and matchups when it comes to late innings. I'm sure he pays no attention to Collins' numbers against lefties in the past and is focused on the small sample size from this season, which suggests he's good against them. Of course, if they'd been carrying a true LOOGY or lefty specialist all season instead of dead weight like JC effing Gutierrez in the pen, he would have had a better option against LH hitters than Collins or Bruce Chen.
