Afroman punches woman during performance

VIDEO included in story:
http://www.wlox.com/story/28133270/a...mobilecgbypass

BILOXI, MS (WLOX) -
A Grammy nominated entertainer is in trouble with Biloxi police after he decked a female fan during a Fat Tuesday performance.

Joseph Foreman, aka Afroman, was on stage at Kress Live Tuesday afternoon following Biloxi's Mardi Gras parade. While he played his guitar, a woman walked on stage. Seconds later, the video clearly show Afroman turning around, and throwing a punch that knocked the woman to the ground.

Biloxi police say that woman made a citizen's arrest. She filed an affidavit against the entertainer. He was arrested and charged with misdemeanor simple assault.

Afroman paid $330 CASH to bond out of jail. According to Biloxi's police chief, the musician “gave us no problem whatsoever.”

Chase Taylor owns Kress Live. He told WLOX News, "Afroman was about five songs into his set when the incident occurred. We pulled the plug on him, and security met him at the bottom of the stage to escort him outside, where he was taken into custody."

Afroman is 40 years old. He went to USM. In 2002, his song "Because I Got High" was nominated for a Grammy.

"Kress Live does not condone this type of behavior. We like to keep a safe environment, and we addressed the situation the best way we could," said Taylor.

His apology.

Quote:
"I didn't get a chance to eat dinner of medicate myself, so I was even more anxious than normal," he told TMZ. "It was an early show, I usually play at night and I've had my dinner and I medicate, I get right. It was an early show, it was Mardi Gras, I had to walk like half a mile to get to the place. I had my frustrations to make a long story short."

He went on to explain that a man in the audience had been heckling him, and he thought that's who was behind him.

When the TMZ hosts asked him point blank, "What do you think about when you see that video?" Afroman simply said, "It was wrong."

She had nothing but good things to say about it. It wouldn't surprise me if this chick was heckling him and then got on stage. That still doesn't justify what he did.

If you watch the TMZ video at the link....he says that there was a guy heckling him and then two girls showed up on stage. He said that he told them to leave....one of them did and he thought that both of them had. He thought that the person coming up on him was the guy who had been heckling him.

She could have avoided that hook if she had stayed off the stage. She wore it pretty well though, I was surprised to see her hop back up. Maybe she's taken a beating or two in her life.

Yea, he was in sooooo much danger. Just look at him. He's literally shaking on stage from fear. I'm impressed he was able to take charge of a life or death situation like he did. Probably a good thing he didn't give security a chance to do there job. Too bad he didn't have a way to get their attention, you know, like an amplified microphone or something.

But...wait....no......it seems he didn't miss a lick. Didn't act like he was afraid at all did he ? Before, during, or after he sucker punched her.

It's not that hard. I've been to many concerts large and small. I've never felt the need to get up on stage and get any closer to the performer.

Coincidentally I've never been throw off a stage by security or had my teeth re-arranged by a singer. Strange how that works.

VARSITY
I don't buy his explanation. He assumed the person he was hitting was a man who had heckled him but never was on stage? So confident he was willing to throw a no-look hook? Yeah, right. He looks right at the girl at beginning of the video.
