Fans Stop Booing. Become Supportive. Team Wins. Coincidence?

Anyone else wondering if it was more than a coincidence that when the Chiefs needed support and got it they found a way to win?

I support the change in status quo.

The powers that be needed to know that they can't get endless money and support and do nothing with it.

We have held up our end of the bargain for years.

I do too, Zach. In no way is my observation that the team played better under no pressure of experiencing the vitriol they've seen is in no way arguing to keep the status quo. It's simply saying that we've hit bottom and things are going to turn around. We can start supporting the turn around now or wait until changes are made. Either way, the support needs to happen. And I feel that this team has earned a reprieve from the hate for the rest of the season.

I'm not like Keitzman right now who is saying he thinks Crennel and Pioli saved their asses for next year and that it trumps Clark Hunt's hand in firing them. I think all of them will see that the best possible scenario FOR ALL INVOVLVED is for them to move on in a different direction.

How about last year or the beginning of this year when we weren't booing? Or the fact that there were like 10,000 people there yesterday. This is fishing for a reason to put down the upset fans and its a weak attempt at that.

I was at the home opener. They were booing by the second half. Many had left by the fourth quarter.

And was that the cause of poor play? Or the result of it?

IMO and IIRC, as soon as they came out in the 3rd quarter and Succup misses a field goal the mood changed. We were down by 3 points but it might as well have been 30. It was like a balloon deflating in the stands. I couldn't believe it. The team imploded after that.

If booing caused poor play, no team would ever win on the road. This topic is gay.

Maybe we don't have a good team if they can't win under pressure? What happens when they play on the road in the playoffs? Should we ask the other crowd to quite down?

I wished we would have known this rule in time for all those times we were 13-3 and had home field advantage throughout the playoffs. We'd have needed a bigger trophy case for sure.

There's a serious flaw with this theory.

This season, including the last few weeks, the fans have cheered good plays. Even when they are down 10+ points, the fans have cheered and supported the team for every 1st down and score. You are acting like the fans have been booing from the opening kickoff and have sat on their hands whenever the Chiefs made a good play, and then that abruptly changed this week. That is not true. There's really been no difference this week except the absence of a banner flying over the stadium before kickoff.

If Quinn had thrown 3 picks or something like that yesterday, I guarantee you would have heard boos, shooting or no shooting.

True, but the agents are going to set the market and someone is going to pay the piper. Manning went to Pile High because they not only offered as much money as anyone was willing to pay, there was also under the table future ownership thrown in to boot. We offered peanuts and a "competition" with Cassel. It's just the way it is.

I thought it odd, that for the first time all year, KC threw the ball downfield more than 5 yards to wide open receivers and upon completion, there were no penalites for holding, offensive pass interference, illegal man downfield, etc.

In fact there were no penalties called on KC the entire day until the late delay of game flag.

It was as if both Carolina and the league (read referees) let up on the team for one week. It was surreal and had nothing to do with the half empty stadium.
