Off Season Lets Talk Guns

Been a while since we had a guns n' ammo discussion.

Some of you are AR shooters Im sure. Im looking at a Colt 6920. Will be my first AR. Picked up a Glock this fall and really enjoy shooting it. Any feedback on that weapon?

Anyone else been in a buy/sell/trade mood with hardware?

So what type of slings do you guys prefer? I want to get one for my Sig Sauer 556, but I'm undecided between single point and double point slings. It looks to me like, from the factory, the gun is more so designed for a double point sling.

http://www.sigsauer.com/upFiles/cata...ero-detail.jpg

It has one attachment point at the very back/bottom of the stock, and one to the left of the front sight assembly. I see that they have adapters you can buy to install between the stock and the frame to handle single point slings though.

I do both.

Single point is nice, but you have to be careful with the hook rubbing on the lower receiver. You are also able to release the rifle but leave the sling on.

You only need one single-point sling and it will work on every rifle that you own that has a mount.

I've got a single I'd sell you cheap brand new I don't have the gun attatchment just the sling. I bought it for my ar22 with a bass pro card and realized I've got the stuff for double already.

Picked up an old Remington Model 10 at a charity auction. I'm surprised at how mechanically complicated it is considering it's an early 1900's pump gun.

Trying to decide if I want to restore it or let it keep wearing it's battle scars.

Anyone have a Sig 1911 .45?

I've been eyeballing them and there is a new Sig deal with the purchase of the 1911, they throw in the .22lr pistol free from participating dealers.

I'm going to get a new 1911 regardless but this is making the Sig look better.

Double check that offer. I get their update/offer emails since I registered my 556 with them, and last week they sent out an email saying, basically, that because of the demand for that deal, they were cutting it short. I deleted the email, so I don't remember the exact details though.

I don't think the gun has much value, 2-3 hundred at most, but it's current condition definitely adds character.

I'm trying to track it's serial number now to see if it happens to have any military connection as apparently a few of the standard versions were used by prisoner guards and in some form of training.

Gun broker add made me laugh

The pictures should answer most of your questions. But I will say that I think someone before me has replaced the Winchester hard rubber buttplate, it is the correct period plate but because of the overlap between the plate and the stock (plates were sanded to the stock by the factory) I believe this plate to be a replacement. Every part and piece is 100% correct and the metal has not been refinished or the wood sanded. The picture with the scratches is on the left side of the receiver and it looks a lot worse than it is because I took the picture so close. It's really not to bad especially if you are far-sighted. I have owned this gun for about 10 years and am only selling because of a divorce and she wants the money...Bitch got everything else, why not one more thing. And I also think its best to sell the gun before I use it for its intended purpose! I can take other pictures if you want to see a different angle or part.

I don't see the stamp on this one anywhere, but it's so worn I can barely make out the normal barrel date stamp and the stamp on the bottom is all but totally gone.

Wow! The most liberal court in the land ruled in favor of concealed carry. This is a huge victory for California gun owners.
