Arrowhead vs. Edward Jones Dome

Well.......as some on here know, I attended the Chiefs vs. Dolphins game, which was my first game at Arrowhead.

I took my daughter to the game after a long day at Oceans of Fun.

Since I live in the St. Louis area and have attended several Rams games I decided to compare my experiences.

To be honest, there is no comparison. The open stadium and the fans at Arrowhead make it a much more enjoyable experience. The Dome here in St. Louis is not as lively and it's like moving the furniture out of the living room and watching a bunch of people play on carpet with the A/C keeping everything cool A much calmer environment.

I will say however, that with all the beer bottles, fights, and police dragging people out, I was concerned for my daughter at times. I am a huge Chiefs fan but to be honest, there were many people at this game that I try to shield my daughter from.

We watched to police escort a guy out while one of his posse was sneaking up on the police from behind as if he was planning to free his buddy. Another friend grabbed to guy to keep him from doing anything stupid and then they just stood there yelling at the cops. My daughter and I were trying to get her a souveneir at the time.

We intended to get to Arrowhead early to see some of the tailgating but Outback Steakhouse messed up our order before the game and took an hour and fifteen minutes to get our food. Therefore, we missed half the first quarter because we were stuck in traffic and was sent to some parking lot on the back half of the stadium. It is much easier to get to the Dome here traffic wise.

The good news is that my daughter wanted a Chiefs cheerleader autographed calendar. So I got to meet some of the cheerleaders

All in all it was a good experience but I would definately approach it differently if I were going to come to another game!

eh, don't take my post seriously-- the chiefs cheerleaders (and how poorly they take to photography) is an old planet inside-joke.

Yeah, I know. A couple of them had a ton of make-up on and believe me it didn't help.

Keep in mind you were at a pre-season game, alot of the people there were given tickets and their type will not be there during the regular season.

I'm not saying there's never any trouble at Arrowhead but believe me it's much more so during pre-season and or Raider/Donkey games.

Regular season games are generally a more classy crowd. You still have your idiots, but just not as many.

BTW,I've been to NFL football at 3 domes including Edward Jones for The Rams-Eagles NFC Championship and there's no comparison to Arrowhead at all, hell,of the outdoor stadiums I've been to there's none either.

I was kinda wondering if that was the case. A friend of mine told me to try a regular season game for the real experience.

There were so many beer bottles on the ground outside the stadium that my daughter and I literally had to watch our step.

I enjoy a good party and all but the atmosphere at that game was something that I probably would not have taken my daughter to if I had been forewarned. Just too many from the trouble crowd.

At one point someone yelled "FIGHT" in our section and we stood up and turned around to see a guy laid out several rows up. I don't know if he got knocked out or just passed out (because most around us were clearly drunk before the game started) but the police were making their way to him to drag him out.

Just a completely different experience that what I've had over here.

I went to the EJD when it first opened and ... well ... it's the cleanest stadium I've ever been in.

And I'll just leave it at that.

Been to a couple of games there in St Louie. Keep in mind this was way back in 96 and 97. Probably the least interested football crowd ive ever seen. I remember people used to complain about that cannon they used to fire when the Rams scored TD's..not sure if they still have it?
