They're utilizing a Coryell variant very close to ours, complete with all the pre-snap shifts...

Funny. There just happened to be a piece on that game on NJ TV here. That's the last bowl game of any kind for Rutgers until tonight, and it's being romanticized as though they lost that game by virtue of a bad offsides call on an onside kick.

Maybe it was close for awhile, but a 16 point final margin?

At least with our 30-year bowl drought, we had a win in the Pasadena Bowl to look back on fondly.

Wow, it feels good to go to three bowls in a row.

NJ State's only bowl appearance was in 1978, a loss to ASU @ Giants Stadium. This is the longest hiatus between a home and home in a while.

Not many college teams use it, do they?

I'd have thought it would be too complicated. Very few teams in college seem to be able to effectively run a WCO, and ours is just as complicated.

I just remembered...Terry Shea was HC at Rutgers from 1996-2000.

I'm gonna go over to the Rutgers website and see if there's a connection...

Question. I understand that some people in here perfer a clean slate. However, say if Saunders is hired as a HC for the Chiefs, do you think Shea would most likely get the OC position, considering they both know the Air Coryell offense?

Something to think about I suppose.

Terry Shea was a Bill Walsh/West coast offense guy before he came to KC. Walsh was the one who recommended him to Vermiel.

Anyone see Jimmy Kimmel being interviewed. Damn he was wasted. Got confused giving bowl picks and admits "I'v already had a few beers". Judging by the bloodshot eyes and slur, it was more than a few.
