Outside of the cover-who D, he's a tremendous liability in coverage, and that D is a decade out of fashion in the league. In other words, he's basically worthless in the NFL.
Kiffin has brought the cover 2 to Dallas.

Since then, we have given Stanford Routt a lot of money (and took a dead money hit against the cap this year for cutting him)...and now are giving about 12 to the combination of Robinson and Smith.

Nevermind that Smiths absolute highest achievable ceiling is what Carr was already offering us and Dante Robinson was done LAST YEAR.
how much do you think he would have cost if we bid more than dallas? I really liked carr, but did you really want 22m a year just to our 2 starting cbs?

Thats almost 20 percent of the cap to 2 guys. Its bad enough w had irresponsible contacts with tyson jackson, and tamba hali. We couldn't dedicate that much money to 1 more player. Put it this way, bowe would begone if we had signed car r

Oh, I know. And that defense will get torched all season long, just like it did here.

I agree. Their injuries are piling up btw on the D line. All things considered, we should be able to control the ball against them. If we're able to run it down their throats I hope Reid doesn't take a trip back down Eagle lane and try to throw it 95 times.

I just want balance actually.

Are we really still arguing about Carr?

I've yet to see anyone make a solid argument as to why investing 50+ million in a CB is a good idea... or shown any recent example where overpaying any CB gets a team over the hump, or even makes a difference. Charles Woodson is about the only example I can think of and he was a great pass rusher. And he missed most of their Super Bowl win injured.

VARSITY
At training camp this afternoon the QB's first-Alex looked solid out there, nothing flashy and has the leadership abilities to lead this NFL team. Chase did alright but I'm not overly confident in him at this point. Tyler Bray looked very good out there and throws bullets I really hope he works out for the Chiefs for the long term and Stanzi was awful to be blunt taking a lot of time before he made throws he lacks the poise and confidence the other three have if he makes this team I would be surprised.

Kelce was thrown the ball several times he did great-a big TE, match him of with Fasano, Bowe in the slot and Charles in the backfield and defenses will freak and I'm not lying.

Knile Davis did very good and he hustled out there I give him credit he is a solidly built RB, I was somewhat disappointed in this pick I will be honest but hes a Chief now and I hope he breaks records for us. Bowe wasn't out there at all, not sure whats up with that. McCluster caught everything and ran like he owned the field. Charles did his thing as to be expected, 1000 plus yard season I'm predicting this year.

Eric Fisher looked like a stud for sure, him and big Albert as book ends for the O line brought a smile to my bright and cheery face.
Nico had a great attitude and was smiles afterwards, great pick for the Chiefs, I hope he has a long healthy and successful career with this team.

Thanks for the report....pretty much as expected. Bray should be the #2.
