Most Pathetic Play In Chiefs History

Not worst play ever, as in the most significant bad play in Chiefs history.

I mean the one play in Chiefs history that was just so fundamentally terrible from a football standpoint, that it made you honestly question how/why the player(s) that committed it could have landed an NFL career.

My vote:

I believe it was 2007 or 2008, the last year or two of Herm Edwards. I forget who he QB was.

The Chiefs were down to their last play in yet another losing effort to the Colts, but they were only down one score with about sixty yards left to go.

The Chiefs go into a lateral-off, having several players lateral to keep the play alive until, hope against hope, one of them could break off and score.

Brian Waters. Tony G. Then the ball gets to Samie Parker.

Samie Parker dives into the turf, and crawls about three yards until a Colts player walks up and touches him on the shoulder, ending the game.

Brian Waters visibly pissed. Somebody explains to Parker what the **** he did, and he smiles and laughs with his knees still on the turf.

Beat that, Planeteers.

(I'll get a "most impressive play" thread going after this one runs its course.)

I've done such a good job of blocking that whole horrible day out of my mind that I had honestly forgotten.

Of course, if Marty had simply started Gannon I have no doubt we wouldn't have needed any of those field goals.

Wtf?

Trent Green couldn't have played any better.

It was an absolute travesty, though, that our 2005 team didn't make the playoffs with a healthy Roaf. We win that Dallas game 9 times out of ****ing 10 and we lose it, go 10-6, and watch the #6 seed (Pittsburgh) win the damn Super Bowl.

That honestly COULD HAVE been us...sucks being us.

I don't think we've run one screen pass since the Vermeil days where I thought to myself, "boy, what a great play call."

Colquitt's pass on the botched FG that led to a TD return is the worst play I've ever seen. It was Garo Yepremian bad.

Actually it was counted as not one, but TWO fumbles on the same play by Colquitt:

(1:42) (Field Goal formation) D.Colquitt FUMBLES (Aborted) at SEA 28, RECOVERED by SEA-K.Herndon at SEA 39. K.Herndon for 61 yards, TOUCHDOWN. Colquitt charged with two fumbles on the play. He fumbled a second time before Herndon recovered the ball. Play Challenged by KC and Upheld. (Timeout #1 by KC at 01:27.)

Didn't Boerigter drop a sure TD pass as well?

I've said it many times - If Morton and Boerigter catch those passes and Priest doesn't fumble, we'd remember how Trent Green outdueled Peyton Manning that day.

Yeah, that play call was pure WTF. You can see the deep safety just watching everything happen 15 yards in front of him. Horrible play call, horrible execution.
