Geno Smith fans roll call

NEW THREAD HEADER (11/17/12):

The list is gone. We will all be Geno Smith fans when he gets drafted by the Chiefs. For historical documentation's sake, I'll keep the list in a separate post on this thread: http://www.chiefsplanet.com/BB/showp...postcount=3314

WHY GENO SMITH?
If you're wondering if Geno Smith is right for you, check out this brilliant post by Saccopoo:

http://www.chiefsplanet.com/BB/showp...postcount=5388

Next, we have a few GIFs you may be interested in from the Oklahoma game. Insane potential. These are the elite throws that very few QBs can make. What more can I say? Geno Smith can be a franchise QB in the NFL, and the Chiefs need to take a shot on him.

GIF #1:
Spoiler!

GIF #2:
Spoiler!

GIF #3 (My favorite):
Spoiler!

HOW DO WE GET HIM HERE?

Glad you asked. I posted this checklist earlier. It probably belongs in the thread header, and will be updated as the Chiefs close out their season and start a new chapter in their franchise story.

Preparing for Geno Smith's Arrival In KC Checklist

1. [X] Lose games and acquire the #1 overall pick
2. [X] Get Pioli and the Patriot Way cronies the **** out
3. [X] Hire new GM/coach

OPTIONAL (but highly recommended):
4. [ ] Re-sign/tag Bowe, who really wants to play in KC with Geno
5. [ ] Re-sign/tag Albert

Nobody can. Does that make him a better QB than the Manning brothers? Than Brady? Than Rogers?

Brady might be the most unathletic quarterback in the entire NFL. I don't think anyone thinks he sucks.

I just chewed out Mel in a family-friendly way. I hope he addresses my question.

He can be. He's throwing for ****ing 8.27 yards right now with 18 TDs and 4 INTs.

He's an amazing passer who can also expand his game beyond passing.

Not saying he will be... he's a prospect. Which is what we are talking about... prospects.

RG3 is a better prospect than Smith.

If I were the Skins, I'd be harping on him to be more like Rodgers. The way he plays is the way Griffin should play.

I guess Arizona has true fans too?

Daryl (Van Buren, AR)
Any rumors floating around of New England trading Ryan Mallett to someone like KC or Arizona for picks?

Mel
I don't think he has much value right now. He wasn't a first round guy. Cassell was in a similar situation and that hasn't worked out well. Kevin Kolb didn't work out well. There's not much of a track record there for guys who didn't go early and had to develop behind someone. That does't help him.

The thing that I like about Geno is his accuracy and pocket presence. His ball placement is very good and consistent.

The last QB in a "normal class" to have such a good ability in that area was Sam Bradford. I think the reason why Bradford isn't lighting it up in the NFL is because his confidence isn't quite what it was at OU. Can you blame the guy? Getting hit all the time can ruin any QB (see David Carr).

I like Geno's confidence and poise. I just hope if he comes here, we don't ruin him by letting Albert walk and have Stephenson get beaten like a rag doll like we all saw on Sunday.

I completely disagree with that assessment. Smith typically had lots of time in the pocket.

Yes he is. He's got a great arm. He's a smart guy.

But he's small and he's never going to get bigger than he currently is without sacrificing the aspect of his game that makes him so unique - his athleticism.

And he looks like he's already maxed out his frame usable muscle wise.

And he's not a Chief. He wasn't going to be a Chief. No way, no how. The Chiefs didn't have the ammo to get him. And I don't think that there is a single person that wouldn't have loved to have had him as a Chief. I know I would have been giddy with him as our QB.

That being said, I do feel that Geno Smith is a better pro prospect than Griffin. He's a better passer and has better pocket presence. He lets the game develop in front of him and he can and does use that to get the ball downfield rather than take off and run exclusively.

And it's not like I'm saying Smith is monumentally better a prospect than Griffin. Pretty freaking close. I just like Geno's game better for the pros than Bobby's.

Occasionally. More often than not teams had success collapsing the middle of the pocket, leaving him no room to step up and throw

I guess I just don't see this "better passer" argument.

I don't really see how you can be high on Glennon and not be high on Bray.

I like Geno, but c'mon dude. He is NOT RG3 and as of right now he is not as good of a prospect as RG3 was.

Just a foolish claim, especially since the combine hasn't happened yet for Geno.

I did embellish a bit, but the point I was making is that RGIII had far better protection at Baylor than Smith does at WVU.
