Who is your Chiefs breakout player of 2016?

Mines Dee Ford.

I saw a guy last year wearing #55 that got to QBs with relative ease once he got a chance, but also had trouble finishing plays with sacks instead of pressures....but he also lead the NFL in December in pressures.

Tamba was a very similar player in 2007/2008 and then got over the hump of just creating a lot of pressure and being a poor run defender into becoming a sack machine. I see a similar jump for Ford as a pass rusher (I don't think 9-10 sacks is an unrealistic goal for him).

Who is your breakout player for KC in 2016?

This. For the most team success, I hope it is Dee Ford, with Gaines or Russell right behind him.

I think it all starts clicking for Conley this year though he may not be considered a "breakout" player. But if he gets 70 catches, that would be awesome!

Ford took himself out of a lot of plays last year because of his lack of strength. Supposedly he put some weight on, and hopefully can leverage better vs the run now. Tackles would expect him to just get up-field as fast as possible, and just pushed him out of the play.

Dontari Poe.

I know he's already a top 3 NT, but it's a contract year with $100m on the line.

My guess is he goes a few shades shy of JJ Watt this year. 10 sacks and insane pressure and run defense would be my guess.

FWIW I saw some pics of Ford at OTA's working on his hand skills with Tamba. He looks a little bigger too. It definitely looks like he's put in some serious work to get better this year.

I hope it shows

I said it would be awesome, not likely. But, Wilson did have 51 last year. So it's not a huge stretch.

Tyler Bray.

Alex Smith blows out his ACL in week 3 and Tyler comes in to lead this team to the AFCCG.

Something interesting about Conley: he had more targets (7) in 3 games than Wilson had in any regular season game.
