Just finished my last day at my previous employer. I start a new job this coming Monday (which is actually back at my old job that I left two years ago). I'm getting a 30% increase in annual salary and starting next October I'll begin accruing 4 weeks of paid vacation annually. If the company is doing well in a given year, I can expect large annual bonuses. It's really validating and rewarding to have a company make that big of an effort to let you know how valuable you are. My previous employer went balls out to bring me back and I am pretty excited about it.

Of course, my stress level is probably going to increase at least 30% to go along with my salary increasae, but I hope to learn to deal with it

So I have a 4 day weekend and I'm having the following celebratory brew:

THE BENNIE

A German style lager, our Bock carries a brownish color, a medium body, and a mouthwatering smoothness from the wonderful malt and sweet caramel flavors.

S T Y L E : German Bock
C O L O R : Deep Garnet
B O D Y : Light to medium
F L A V O R : Malty, nutty, sweetness and subtle hints of chocolate
A L C O H O L : 5.5%

The chocolate flavors are very strong, and it's pretty good. But I don't normally associate that with a "bock" type beer.

Drink of choice tonight?

Merlot, I highly recommend Tobin James if you can get your hands on some. Living an hour away from wine country (Paso Robles) is a luxury.
