To his credit, he's been trying real hard to do exactly that.

Then after Dicky we just went into a HUGe tailspin. I know i was at thepoint where i didnt even get mad. I just laughed. The Chiefs had Taken away my football emotion. Ididnt look forward to getting up and watching the Chiefs play. I was just a mentally defeated fan. Lucky during that Era the Lakers were kicking ass.

This team just shit on the fans over and over and it changed the fanbase.
I remember when Dick and Willie Roaf left I got really concerned, even as an 11-year old kid, I knew something was wrong. Never thought it would turn out like this. I think around 2011 or so I just stopped giving a shit, I was totally absent during 2012. The murder-suicide really jolted me though, and I realized that people were actually flying jets over Arrowhead and the blackout game against Cincy. I probably know like 90% less than all of you guys do, but post-2003 to 2012 hurt like hell.

28 out of 32 teams would probably be okay with Alex if he plays like he has the past 4 games.

Yep, only 4 elite qb's and for years it was just 2. Them 2 are at the end as well.

I think the only real qb who has a chance to join that "elite" section is Andrew Luck. outside of that, i just see good qb's in the NFL

Holy hyperbole, Batman.

I'm assuming the four you're leaving out are Rodgers, Manning, Brady and Brees?

Do you think Carolina would trade Cam Newton straight up for Alex Smith?

Atlanta trade Ryan?

San Diego trade Rivers?

Indy trade Luck?

Seattle trade Wilson?

Hell, we already know the Niners wouldn't take him over Kaepernick.

Should I keep going?

There might be 28 teams that would be "OK" with Alex, but it would be as a backup - there's no way in hell they are choosing him over their current starter.

Luckily, we can trade Smith to Seattle for Wilson.

Just two of many examples:

First - the 2010 draft.

Go back and read the draft thread after the selection of McCluster.

The pick was universally HATED. People were ****ing furious.

Then magically, before he ever played a game, people decided to change their minds and go to battle with the "drafturbators" and others.

EXACT SAME THING happened regarding the Cassel trade the year before.
That's not just chiefs planet. It's fans, everywhere. The vast majority will spin things to make themselves feel better about tier team however they can. Why does it make you so angry?

Doesn't make me angry in the slightest. If anything, I feel sorry for those types of people.

Grown adults can't speak critically/rationally regarding their team for fear of being considered a bad fan?

Pathetic.

I hated the selection of Dexter at 36 as much as anyone, but like the player. I think I share that sentiment with a lot of people. No sense hating the player because he was over drafted.

Sports are people's outlet. If I feel shitty about work, I'm gonna do all I can to get happy about my team. Most don't take sports that serious, and that's fine.

I don't have a problem with that at all. To the general fan, sports are an outlet, what's their to be critical about? It's an entertainment game show.

Just because that's the way they wanna view it doesn't make them any worse for the cause

If Alex Smith had such a great 5 game stretch, I guess Josh McCown is a flat out monster.

I'd trade Alex for any of those guys, but I'll also say that he has been playing at a similar, if not greater, level than any of them over the past month.
