Off Season Lets Talk Guns

Been a while since we had a guns n' ammo discussion.

Some of you are AR shooters Im sure. Im looking at a Colt 6920. Will be my first AR. Picked up a Glock this fall and really enjoy shooting it. Any feedback on that weapon?

Anyone else been in a buy/sell/trade mood with hardware?

Time to start stocking up on ammo. If you're looking for some non-corrosive 5.45x39, this is probably the cheapest you'll find.

http://shop.militaryshooters.com/cat...11&pid=1028172

I bought 2 cases of that, along with 2 crates of Bulgarian milsurp ammo when I got my AK.

If cleaned properly, will the corrosive ammo devalue the gun any?

Nope. But that is the key. If not cleaned properly, it'll start to rust from the salts left behind from the corrosive primers. You've got to clean everything: the bore, gas block, gas tube, muzzle brake, etc.

I prefer the corrosive milsurp ammo because its cheaper. And its already sealed up for long term storage.

Man, I remember when my friend bought a Romanian AK-47 for like $250 at a gun show. Damn.

I watched a few YouTube videos of cleaning, using Windex, warm soapy water, or just water. I bought some froglube for lube and cleaning.

I use hot soapy water, and then clean like normal.

I've found that the gas block and muzzle brake are harder to clean than anything else, especially the brake.

He went home thinking those rednecks in Kansas shoot at targets and think they're having fun.

Seriously, I'm sure you both had a good time.

A trick my dad learned in the Army in WWII. Use hot water and mix in 3 or 4 tablespoons of baking soda and let it soak for a little while. Don't know that it does any good but it can't hurt.

It's nice. I guess I have seen too many of them.

I bet it shoots like a wet dream. I have yet to pick up a 1911 that didn't shoot like butter.

Those Ruger 1911's look nice. I've thought about getting one(along with various other 1911's), but I'm busy buying other guns. How does she shoot?
