Geno could be good a year or two from now...but Smith is a win now QB who is underrated and is experienced lead an NFL team far. Would to see him stick it to the 49ers. He handled that whole situation like a gentleman too. I like Smith alot!

Really? This place was really pumped up over Tyler Bray after the Packers preseason game.

I don't think that is true at all. And no one can honestly tell me, although some will try, (clay, sdh) that there is a big enough difference in ceilings to say that having Bray, opposed to having Geno is a big deal.

Its not. The difference is that while Bray gets to take the Aaron Rodgers route, Geno Smith is having to go the Alex Smith, David Carr, Joey Harrington, Ryan Leaf route of being the guy far too soon, even though they weren't ready to do so.

If I am not mistaken, Geno Smith was passed by the jets not once, but TWICE in the first round?

Dee Milliner, and then Sheldon Richardson? So he was their 3rd option?

Yet, he is a starter, and people are freaking out over a bad game.

Where as Chiefs fans are upset because they don't take risks with qbs.

Isnt Bray a risk? Sure, hes going to sit for a minimum of a year, probably two, but if you can win now, and groom your qb, isn't that like the ultimate situation?

And, last point. If Alex Smith does indeed fail, and the Chiefs end up with a high pick in the top 10, they can draft a qb to compete with Bray.

Seems like a pretty sound strategy to me.

Sorry folks, I can't let this shit go.

Did I call you a pedophile because you posted something I disagreed with, Dane? Hmm? Is that what happened?

Or did I use it as a trollish insult when you were the first one to play nasty? I don't remember what it was, but you probably called me a ****. That's one of your old standbys. Wouldn't you say that a trollish and baseless insult like "pedophile" is just fine in that case? No, of course you wouldn't. But I thought it was.

The last few pages show some embarrassing behavior by both of us, and it's a ****ing dumpster fire for onlookers. There's a reason why I put on our truce, and it wasn't to protect my feelings from big mean Dane who wants to set the record straight, as much as you'd like to believe it. It was to prevent this very ****ing thing from happening and derailing threads off into petty "he said this" bickering. I proposed it for the good of the forum, and not for either of us.

You're the one who couldn't handle it and broke it, and I'm not one to take shit, so thus, you have the last few pages and what happened last night.

I would leave this alone if it weren't for these bullshit lies you're spreading about me, especially this one about being a drunk all the time on Chiefs Planet. I can count on one hand the number of times that's happened in my 11 years here on this forum. The incident you speak of was a case where I legitimately read somebody's comment too quickly and misinterpreted what they said. I joked about it later and said, "Ha, I really had too much to drink on my birthday." Know how I can prove it was a joke? It happened a couple days AFTER my birthday.

I don't even remember the last time I've posted drunk on this forum. Well over a year ago for sure. That's no worse than any other person, and when it does happen I do NOT look back and say, "Oh, sorry guys. I wasn't in control of my posting. Hee hee hee." I rarely post anything I regret when that happens.

If you want Dane, I'm willing to put the truce back on. For the good of the rest of the forum. But if you agree to it, I expect you to ****ing observe it, no matter how much YOU disagree with shit I say about QBs, the Chiefs, the draft, or anything else. Go ahead and try to use facts, but just know that I'm the type of poster that does NOT take insults lightly. I don't ignore them, and most of the time I'll come back after being insulted at a level much higher than what was delivered at me. And know that if you feel like continuing to spread lies and warped truths about me around this place, I'm going to follow you around and clean up your messes while taking extra potshots at you. Because I don't tolerate people going after my reputation when it's not deserved.

So what do you say? Sorry for calling you a pedophile and harassing you about your apology thread. I'll do my best to just ignore you in the future if I can't say something nice.

Handshake?

He has been saying over the top things like that to people for months. Most of the time, its over a simple disagreement in a football discussion. At one point, I repeatedly told him to get some help because as a friend (at the time) I was genuinely concerned about his well being.

At one point, he took a step back and realized he was going too far and created an apology thread to a few of us. He cooled off for about a week (maybe less) before returning to doing it even more.

After doing so, he pulls the martyr card and acts completely innocent as if he did nothing wrong and does it again and again.

Here's the troubling thing about it...

People on here sling insults all the time...but almost every time those are just a passing joke to each other that shows disagreement.

Dane says things he genuinely hopes to happen.

He is trying to use this place as his vent and I genuinely hope the guy starts some form of counseling or support group because comments like those are extremely unhealthy in a mental health kinda way.

Why all the angst? Bray could be "that" franchise qb some are thinking should be chanced upon in every draft. So we have Smith right now, with Bray in the wings. No matter the "how" this transpired it is fact. Just seems like a win/win for the whole situation.

Final point and I'm going to bow out.

The fanbase is excited about Bray because he carries no risk. He's a UDFA. He doesn't work out, nothing lost.

I guarantee people wouldn't have the same feelings for Bray had we taken him in the 1st or 2nd round. Because then he's "risky".

It's all about risk with the fanbase. People claim that the wrong QB sets the franchise back a decade. Meanwhile, taking the wrong 5-tech, WR, Safety or NT is no big deal.

People can argue all they want, but the numbers don't lie. Want to win a Super Bowl? Draft a QB in the first 32 picks - by far the best odds. Yes, pocket aces can get cracked, but I'll take them every hand over 8-3 offsuit and take my chances.
