Does that quest begin with a crowbar and a stocking cap?

Ahahah.. looks like PS3 even has to play catchup to the 360 in planet threads also..

Hey but at least you won the media war on Hddvd vs. Bluray.. You at least won one battle even though you are losing the war for the Console War...

I have a PS3, but have not yet played online. Current title list...

Oblivion (loved it on 360 which died AGAIN causing me to buy PS3)
CoD3
Motorstorm
Fight Night Round 3
NHL 2k7
Blazing Angels

For BR content, I have the Resident Evil trilogy (hmm, Mira!), and the Planet Earth series. I CANNOT overstate how ****ing BEAUTIFUL this fucking series is. Absolutley incredible. If you ask me, Planet Earth ALONE is worth buying a PS3 or any other BR player.

Rather boastful comment don't you think? Sony was counting on the format "battle" in order to win the console war. Whether you agree with it or not, the developers WILL make games for the dominant system. If this is not an anomaly and becomes a trend, you will definitely see the shift.

And in case you are wondering, I bought a 360 on release day (and replaced it 3 fuckING TIMES) before buying my son a PS3 for XMas (which I only bought because I couldn't find a Wii). So no, I am not a PS3 fanatic.

Not really boastful, just fact.. While the PS3 finally won a month ahead of 360 it is still getting its ass kicked in games and accessories sold, because most of those sales are people buying it for a bluray player..

Winning the format war means jack and shit when it comes to console games.. There is still no practical use in this console war for their use on games.. UT and DMC4 used the extra storage for the format and you get to see download times and long loads to play.. The hardware for both consoles cannot handle it for games to play fluidly..

Developer's are making games on the console that is easier to code for.. This is why so many games are being pushed or held back on both systems.. The PS3 is a bitch to code for.. GTA4 and others have been done forever but won't be released because of Sony.. Developers are publicly bashing Sony on their system because of the coding, some have dropped Sony all together..

The only reason right now for the slight shift you see is because Bluray won the battle, people now know which player to buy.. It is the cheap bluray player called a PS3...

I have to wonder about your 360's though.. There were tons of problems with them from launch.. But 3 replacements makes me wonder about environmental issues: too much dust, faulty power surge, brownouts that most surges will not stop.. I have my original 360 from launch date still.. We also have every console in our house that we play, I also help sell them.. (well I try and not sell the PS3 just out of spite to TinyEvel pimping them all the time) But if someone wants a bluray player I sell them a Sony..

The 360 is the ONLY console I have ever had die. In fact, I still have a PS1 and the original Xbox (no longer hooked up, but for some reason I can't bring myself to throw them away).

And regarding environmental issues, if my surge protectors cannot protect the 3 laptops, 3 desktops, 8 servers, and 3 network appliances I own, why are they still up? The 360 is pure CRAP. The software titles available for it are 10 times better than anything else out there, but the hardware is still CRAP.

As far as titles being the primary sale venue, I agree, but only to a certain extent. The Wii is outselling the 360, and it's a POS as well. Fun to play? Yes, for a little while. Long list of engaging anf cutting edge titles? Yeah, right.

COD4 - great game, lots of fun
Assassin's Creed - pretty cool, kinda repetitive after a while but decent
NCAA football
Warhawk - cool online only game, worth a look. don't have the headset though.
Dirt - it's alright, but no real multiplayer kind of sucks.
Motorstorm - simple arcade-style racing. great looking game, had a good time with it.
FIFA - best game in the series that I've played. I like the game mode where it locks you on one player and you see the down the field view. Wish there was some kind of superstar mode like Madden has.

Waiting for Gran Turismo and Metal Gear. Might get Unreal Tournament soon.

Anyone played DMC yet?

Warhawk is pretty good IMO. Get the headset and go into with a buddy. It's best if you have someone to run around with.

The Metal Gear download looks insane.

anyone have trouble with PSN connectivity? I went wireless with my PS3. When I initially set everything up I would randomly get dumped pretty consistently from PSN. And I wasn't able to update my Warhawk game to even play it. I had to disable UPnP IIRC on my Linksys wireless router, and everything seems to be working fine, but I'm currently sitting at NAT 3 and "could" experience issues with chat, voice, etc while in game according to the connection test.

But I would recommend both Warhawk and Unreal Tournament. Dogfighting in Warhawk is a blast and you can't beat the insta-gib modifier in UT.

I have a linsys wireless router also and haven't experienced any issues. I played games both wired directly and wirelessly and didn't notice any difference. I haven't played online in a while, been too busy, so if something new is going on then it's possible I haven't noticed it.

I'm sure you probably tried this, but if you haven't, sometimes you can switch channels on the router, maybe you are getting interference or something?

I also mainly play sports games anyways,so im not to worried about the lack of games out for it. Has anyone here that has a ps3 had any problems with theirs??? i dont wanna sink a bunch of money into another system only to have it take a crap on me 7 months later.
