Don't believe there's a dedicated thread, and since they're starting to release information now, I figure it's time for one.

Speaking of ctrl-u. I use that all the time but for me it's crafting-related. That's an area I don't think anybody's mentioned. I have a 400 cybertech and a 400 artificer and hopefully this weekend a 400 synthweaver, and for me the crew skills panel gets out of whack more than anything else.
Mine does the thing where it tells me I can craft 0 of X or Y in the crafting list menu but in reality I have enough mats. This is super minor, though, as to the immediate right it shows you the required mats and the available mats.

Both, really. Operative is by far the most cried-about class (kind of like Warlock was at one time in WoW) but I assume you're a sniper?

Yeah, i'm a sniper. He's got a nice set of skills that increase survivability in PVP.

If I ever roll an alt, it'll probably be a Vanguard tank or a Commando healer. I love how their companions look and I love the pew pew pew effects whenever I'm grouped with one. They also seem like they can do pretty much anything they want and walk away dusting their right shoulder off.

I think this is where my LOTRO experience took over for me. I was a Lore-Master for 3 years, so I'm used to about the worst pet pathing you can imagine. During beta, by reflex I was basically treating the companions in TOR exactly the same way I did my LM pets. That is, dismissing and recalling every time I move vertically, be it an elevator or a cliff/mountain. Making sure they're set on passive anytime I travel or death-run or have a serious crowd control situation. Nothing annoys me more than qyzen hitting his aoe pulse 2 seconds after I lift some elite standing in the middle of two strong mobs.

To all the MMO noobs - when you're making death runs (for datacrons and such), make sure you take off all your equipment with durability.

I only have one datacron. I've noticed a few of them in locations I couldn't reach, but said eff it, i'll go back later. Are they worth picking up, what do they do?

I would guess most of the "OP" stuff is coming from the pvp subset of players. My perspective may change once I get them all into the 40s, but I've played gunslinger/sage/sentinel/commando, and from a purely solo pve perspective, none of them are really any weaker than the others. They just all do different things well, and in a lot of ways you have to play them differently to really succeed. It's actually kind of amazed me just how well my sentinel has worked out solo, after hearing how awful and difficult the class is. Ironically, for me the gunslinger, the one that does by far the most damage, is usually the most challenging to play. While there isn't a whole lot (so far) that I can't handle, on the other hand if I'm not on the ball, ridiculously easy things can kill me, and it certainly requires the most downtime in terms of post-fight recovery.

The one class I'll probably never touch is guardian/juggarnaut. That one just screams "boring" to me.

They give you permanent stat boosts and let you create some pretty uber relics. I'm an OCD completionist whore so I don't consider a planet done until all quests (including bonus) are done and all datacrons are gathered.

Hahaha, who else would cry about OP classes? And yeah, my Sentinel has been extremely fun and easy to play so far but, again, I think this is due to me being way too overleveled for the content I'm going through.

I've gotten most of them so far except the one in the power plant on Taris that requires two people and the +10 ones in the fleet which you have to be 50 to get, and which I will probably never be able to do since it requires coordinating 4 people.

I definately see your point. Hard to care about somethign that you never see happen and never affects you.

For your guild, are you on the Space Slug server. If so you should ally with the 53. That way you don't have to merge and yet you can still get groups going. If you're imperial, let me know, and I will get my guild to ally with you.

I generally fall into the camp of "learn to play" when it comes to PvPers complaining about class balance. Not that there aren't and always will be issues with class balance, but the reality is, for everybody out there saying their class sucks and can't compete, there's somebody out there who can prove them horribly wrong.

My problem with balance is a purely numbers one and it's the same whether it's pvp or pve: there are too many imperials and there are too many inquisitors. There's not even a hint of balance between the two factions.

But I think we all knew that coming in and there's not really anything bioware can do about it. All the sociopathic cool kids were always going to play empire because they can shoot things with lightning and play out all their repressed dark fantasies. And the republic basically only appeals to the equally sociopathic roleplayers who want to live out their luke skywalker fantasies.
