Well, the question was "most memorable" and not all time or best ever...

It was...I always get crap for over posting about soccer. Haha.

Though I would say an even bigger upset was beating Spain in the confederations cup in 2009.

You'd be wrong.

Brazil?

****ING BRAZIL?

What else could we do?

Beat Germany as well?

It'd be like beating the classic Packers and 49'ers...

Agree completely, the NFL is really 'any given Sunday.' the middle third of the league is pretty much even and the top isn't too far ahead of them.

With the Giants and Patriots, people confuse a great game that ends in an upset as a great upset. The Giants were the NFC champion, they didn't suck. They weren't 14 point dogs. The best team lost to the second best team, that really isn't that shocking.

Spain is the world's top side now. Brazil and Germany a good of course but I don't think Spain has many/any peers at the moment.

Rope-a-dope...classic. good call here.

This is another I couldn't believe when it happened:

What do you [or |Zach], or well anyone] think of the effect of Spain's STYLE of dominance?

I really, really enjoy watching their interchangeability and their unwavering passing competence, but am still wistful thinking of the beautiful game of Brazil or the flash of the game with more individual offensive superstars.

For those less acquainted, Spain is straight crushing folks with a keep away style of play. They don't so much as stutter passes, let alone fumble them, so the game is this precision procession of crisp passes as they patiently wait for an offensive opening. Once they score, they are nearly impregnable on defense.

At times it looks like the Globetrotters working 'the weave' against the Generals on offense, then the Rodman era Pistons on D.
