Well, Boss was an effective tight end for the Giants but they didn't want to "pay" him because they had two other effective tight ends on the roster.

He signed a nice deal with the Raiders but was cut during their salary cap purge. The Chiefs definitely tried to upgrade their tight end position this offseason and "missed out" on John Carlson, who signed with Minnesota.

I think Boss was a nice addition and hoped he'd contribute. But after this latest brain injury, the dude should call it a career.

Boss had Hip problems was the main reason the Giants chopped him and the concussion this probably played a role as well.

I feel for Kevin - tough break but as other's have said - better safe than sorry. The CHIEFS are SUCH PUSSIES that they let Buffalo KICK THEIR ASSES AGAIN after severely injuring another player.

On a side note - it was known that he DID have concussion problems when Pioli signed him but he could be signed at a bargain and Pioli just couldn't resist. The off season "plan" is really paying off. Pioli would have been better off to go with the "non-plan" plan...

But they also had Bear Pascoe, Travis Beckum and Jake Ballard around, which made it much, much easier to let him go.

That's a shame he is injured and on IR, but there could be an upside if Maneri gets to play some more. He has made a few plays and looks like he can contribute positively. If he doesn't play, how can anyone know what he can do?
