Geno Smith fans roll call

NEW THREAD HEADER (11/17/12):

The list is gone. We will all be Geno Smith fans when he gets drafted by the Chiefs. For historical documentation's sake, I'll keep the list in a separate post on this thread: http://www.chiefsplanet.com/BB/showp...postcount=3314

WHY GENO SMITH?
If you're wondering if Geno Smith is right for you, check out this brilliant post by Saccopoo:

http://www.chiefsplanet.com/BB/showp...postcount=5388

Next, we have a few GIFs you may be interested in from the Oklahoma game. Insane potential. These are the elite throws that very few QBs can make. What more can I say? Geno Smith can be a franchise QB in the NFL, and the Chiefs need to take a shot on him.

GIF #1:
Spoiler!

GIF #2:
Spoiler!

GIF #3 (My favorite):
Spoiler!

HOW DO WE GET HIM HERE?

Glad you asked. I posted this checklist earlier. It probably belongs in the thread header, and will be updated as the Chiefs close out their season and start a new chapter in their franchise story.

Preparing for Geno Smith's Arrival In KC Checklist

1. [X] Lose games and acquire the #1 overall pick
2. [X] Get Pioli and the Patriot Way cronies the **** out
3. [X] Hire new GM/coach

OPTIONAL (but highly recommended):
4. [ ] Re-sign/tag Bowe, who really wants to play in KC with Geno
5. [ ] Re-sign/tag Albert

Do you remember how Cortez Kennedy would own Interior Linemen then destroying running/passing plays? If their was an LT or Reggie White yes I'd take him, but this guy is special. Still Geno is plays a more valued position, so he gets the nod.

As a pass rusher? Because with the way the league is headed, I don't give a **** how good of a run stopper he is.

I have like 7 games of his that I plan on watching over this weekend.

He won't be able to do it like that in the NFL.

Haloti Ngata is a monster, a man-beast.

Even he can't single-handedly deliver a win.

Every team that has a questionable QB should be drafting one with the highest pick they have every year until they find one worth a shit. It is the most important position in any sport.

It's hard to say this, but The Cleveland Browns have been doing the right thing. Draft > Assess > Move on > Repeat. Eventually they will get a great QB, and The Chiefs will still be drafting DLine.

It ain't any of this sub-par OTs.

It ain't Jarvis Jones, who sucks dick.

That brings it down to Teo and Star.

He collapses the pocket like a mad man while taking on at times triple teams thus far he has 5 sacks.

Only two teams in the last 10 years have selected a non-quarterback first overall. Houston took Mario Williams in 2006 and Miami took Jake Long in 2008. Both of these players were everything these franchises could have hoped for in a number one pick. They both made All-Pro teams and have been considered amongst the league's best at their respective positions.

Yet it is possible that neither one will earn a second contract with their team. They have one combined playoff appearance amongst them, during Long's rookie year (Houston made the playoffs last year with Williams going on IR midway through last season). Despite his individual success, the Houston defense continued to be terrible after Williams was drafted. By the time it was good, they deemed him expendable. Long is facing a similar situation - he's a free agent after this season, but is having his worst year as a pro.

Any relevance and improvement the Dolphins have going forward is going to be completely tied to Ryan Tannehill. A quarterback selected in the first-round.

Matt Ryan's college numbers are a joke compared to Geno.

In fact, Tyler Wilson's college numbers are better than Matt Ryan's.

??? As much as I want Geno Smith to be our pick, it's well-known that any Dline position is an impact position. I'm not sure the NT position is still the most important position in a 3-4 as many people thought before, but yeah 4-3 end, 4-3 DT, 3-4 end, they're all premium positions.

Star Lotulelei probably has Ngata, Smith or Watt's potential and those guys are so important for their defense. But yeah, a top QB is worth 10 times more.

How in the **** did Matt Ryan playing at BC throw for 4500 yds and manage a full yard lower in YPA than Wilson? I thought that was a pro-style offense he ran?

Like Brock posted earlier, Cortez Kennedy was one of the best DTs of all time and his team not only didn't win a Super Bowl, they managed only 2 winning seasons in his entire time there.

The best 3-4 linemen in the NFL were almost exclusively acquired in the back half of the 1st round.

If you like at tackles taken high, all you see is a big string of busts.

We're not talking about picking 10th here, we're talking about picking FIRST.
