Interesting, thanks. I can understand the skepticism.

My industry is always getting screwed over by sales and marketing. If there's a good way for us to reach people, it's also good for those people, and as a result our cooperation rate goes down.

I'm leaning back toward good old fashioned snail mail. Phone surveys get harder every year, online surveys aren't statistically correct (though we make some compromises as needed), intercept surveys are statistically challenging, and door to door surveys are expensive. Mail surveys, where we can include a small incentive like a dollar or something, may be the wave of the future in market research even though it was the predominant method back in the 1960s and 1970s.

You better hope the survey isn't about internet porn preferences in that case.

I continue to get calls from an Auto Processing Center about my vehicle's car insurance coming up on expiration. This all comes despite me having an extended warranty through the dealership.

I've told these buttholes to put me on a "Do Not Call" list, but they hang up immediately. Now, I just tell them I sold the car, but that hasn't kept them from calling me a bajillion times. Occasionally if the family isn't home, I'll turn on some porn to MAX volume and put it by the receiver. Other times I'll yell into the receiver with whatever I can think of at the time (SHIRTCOCK POTATO PIE STOVE **** YOU TABLE LAMP).
