They've still won more titles in recent times than a certain conference fond of "Leftovers"

Like I said when the show-cause rumors surfaced, I think Mizzou would be better with Fuller as the HC long-term than Haith.

I do love that about the present leadership, though. They're making some serious investments in the staff around Haith and it's paying off.

The 2014 class could be a major turning point class for us. If that thing goes well, Haith's put the program right back on track. At that point, you can say that he's turned the Titanic and has it heading in the right direction.
Yes. The 2014 class could be transformational.

I left out Goodluck Okonoboah, who is Alex Oriakhi's cousin. They have a great shot at both and Devin Booker.

DeAngelo Russell is someone who has been on campus already and says he plans to return. This is a top 10-15 national kid.

Losing Beard stinks, but they have great shots at Larry Austin of Springfield, IL and Chris Chiozza of Memphis, who are similar players.

Chiozza plays with Leron black, a 5-star star PF, who Missouri is also in the running for.

If they could land:
Okonoboah
Booker
Russell
Chiozza/Austin
Black

You're talking about a TREMENDOUS recruiting class.

Agreed on Fuller. He'll be gone before long, and if they did part ways with Haith, I'd support an internal promotion for Fuller completely.

Haith has done a really solid job of solving both problems while continuing to win.
You loved the Mike Anderson hire. Admit it.

I'm not sure what Bull was ever supposed to be, but I sure don't see anything to be excited about there. Jankovic looks like he'll be a solid scorer, but I'm not sure his defense will ever get to passable. If the 2012 recruiting class is his average, Mizzou will struggle to be a consistent tournament team.

That said, that's really his only true freshman class and this year's class w/ JWIII and Wesley Clark looks a hell of a lot better. But it's tough to say that his freshman classes are anywhere near the level of the Ross/Bell/Criswell/Clarkson/Oriakhi/Brown/Post transfers he's brought in.

Maybe I just have a sour taste in my mouth still from Anton Beard de-committing. I just worry that he's going to get reliant on the transfer guys and we'll be in a constant state of rebuilding.
great point. The recruiting has to improve.

To me, it sounds like people are trying to make a story out of nothing to try and juice up what could potentially be a rivalry because MU ruined one of the best rivalries in the country and now need a new one in a new conference.
So...in your expert opinion...this is about Kansas?

Here's a hint: Kansas has no rival. The Big 12 is boring as shit. (Nothing like seeing Texas Tech on Big Monday to gin up excitement.)

Florida, Arkansas, and Kentucky are great conference games. I don't give a shit if we ever play Kansas again. Mizzou just set a single season home attendance record. Don't you worry about us not having compelling matchups. We'll be just fine.

It was a good hire. Two of the best days of his tenure were the day he came and the day he left. If he hadn't left us high and dry, I wouldn't have had any problem with him going back to Arkansas.

They let TCU win that one. Beaks haven't lost a game in over 20 years.

I agree with this, and most Mizzou fans would. The way MA left could have been disastrous for Mizzou, and it is apparent that he was planning on leaving, since he did not care to do any recruiting the last year or so he was there.

The top thread on Hogville is currently about the NIT seeding projections.

i liked it at first. It didn't take long, though, to begin wondering if there was an offensive gameplan. It was frustrating to learn that there wasn't.

I don't really give a shit about KU or the Big 12. I'm a a Texas A&M fan that recognizes the SEC is terrible. Texas A&M is terrible. Nobody said Mizzou couldn't compete in conference play. They are to basketball and the SEC as Nebraska football has been to the Big 10

Yet, both have made an infinite impact compared to WVU and TCU to the Big Bevo

Yeah, I agree. It was a good move for the SEC. I didn't realize this was a conference alignment discussion. But I hate the SEC and root against everyone but A&M
