I wanted to get him in the draft. Any reason for his release?

If he can't make the steelers, though, you gotta wonder about him...

Maybe they had a log jam at wide receiver because they drafted plaxico and i think there is another big receiver that they have developed ( nit sure of his name)but maybe because of numbers and not talent.

We only have 4 WR's on the roster right now. We need somebody. At least he has the size that Gun covets.

Cowher has close ties to KC...Maybe Gun knew he was going to be available, hence 4 receivers?

How much of a jump do teams have to pick up players that are cut? Can any team pick up any player cut or does it go by teams with worst record from last season?

Keeping only 4 WRs tells me a lot about this new look offense. Like there is no new look offense. Hell, the Titans with Eddie George and Steve McNair throwing kept 7. I think this post might be right about Farmer, the other starting receiver is Edwards, from LaTech. They have a couple more, too.

By the way Edwards was their #1 last year, remember everyone thinking they would take John Tait, then they took Edwards.

WOW - I'm really surprised the Steelers cut him! Farmer is a big WR - doesn't have the greatest speed, but he's a good route runner & has great hands. I was hoping KC would draft him in the 3rd or later -- looks like we can pick him up for nothing now!

I think the Steelers thought of Farmer as Sean LaChapelle part II
