SceneItAll Tournament: Round 1, Heat 10

The rules:

In Round 1, I'm going to put up the directions to find three randomly selected scenes in this thread: http://www.chiefsplanet.com/BB/showt...ght=sceneitall

You'll vote for your ONE favorite scene among the three. The key here is FAVORITE. We're not talking about the 'best' or 'most powerful' or 'most meaningful'. We're talking about the scene that you most enjoy watching, however you define that.

The winners will move on. I'll also take the 10 highest-scoring second-place scenes and they'll advance as wild cards.

Some of our nominations did not include clips. This will be noted. If you find a clip, please post it and let me know so I can update it if it moves on.

I was torn on this one between the top two.

#1 - A Few Good Men. A well-acted scene that draws a person in. This one could go all ... the ... way.

#2 - Safety Last. It's a classic scene and I prefer comedy. It's up against another classic scene, though.

#3 - The Shining. Wow. Yet another classic. It's a good one, but I don't think it rises up to compete against the other two.

This is a strong heat.

As a correction, it's Harold Lloyd and not Buster Keaton on the clock. My apologies.

All three of these scenes are iconic. Didn't Harold Llyod do that scene himself with no safety harness? And how far up on the list of all time great actors does Jack Nicholson rank?

Tough choice this go around.

I don't know about Lloyd in particular, but I think those guys were around before stunt people were invented.

All very good scenes. My favorite thus far has been A Few Good Men though. I think that will be our eventual winner.

Jack competing against himself in round one. Unfair. I love the "Here's Johnny" shtick.

A Few Good Men moves on, beating its doppelganger.
