Today I was reminded of how often I live in a cocoon. I overheard some coworkers talking about a recent murder that happened in town, they then mentioned a past incident regarding a student and suspicious circumstances.

It turns out that a student committed suicide eight months ago by jumping off of a parking garage in town. Some months after his death, multiple witnesses came forward implicating him in the death of a professor, including bludgeoning and immolation, in a parking garage no less, eight years earlier. These witnesses claimed they were afraid to come forward for fear of reprisal.

It turns out that the now deceased student was a student of mine a few summers ago. He came off as a bit irascible, but it's difficult to conceptualize occupying a shared space with an alleged murderer for six hours a week.

Needless to say, spooky.

OK, so here's a weird one from my past...

I got married young. High school sweetheart, and all that stupid shit. After a few years, we separated, but continued to try and work on our relationship. I didn't have much hope, but we decided to try anyway. There was a couple that we'd both known since high school, that lived in the same apartment complex as us. We hung out and did couples stuff often. The female was my ex's bridesmaid, and had been classmates growing up.

But later in the separation period, things started to get really weird. My ex started accusing me of some really strange stuff. Like taking money from her and sending mean instant messenger messages and porn and other bizarre stuff. Things that I didn't do. She ended up contacting the police department about money and belongings disappearing. The cops were convinced I was doing it, and told her they were building a case against me. I of course denied it, and the separation gets really ugly. Eventually the cops recovered some video from an ATM camera during one of the reported times of money being taken from her account. Turns out it was our couple friend's husband trying to set me up for the thefts, because he was secretly in love with my ex. He was still married to my ex's best friend at the time too. He had stolen one of my ex's debit cards, and was using that to steal money trying to frame me(he and his family were super rich). In addition, we'd given them keys to our apartment, which he used to sneak in while we were both away, and steal my credentials for email and instant messaging to send ****ed up messages to her and other friends. He was even messing with my work emails, signing me up for porn sites and other weird shit. Once the cops figured everything out, they started going after him. Shortly after that, he ended up calling my ex on the phone, and spilling the beans that he'd been in love with her the whole time. She was freaked out to hear of all the stuff he'd been doing, and called him out on it. He told her he was going to kill himself and hung up. She called the cops, and rushed over to their apartment. She got there before the cops, went in and found him dead. He'd used these big bottles of C02 to asphyxiate himself.

It ****ed my ex up pretty good. More than she already was.

This murder happened 3 blocks from my house. He was an ex-cop and worked for a rich neuro-surgeon who has a large property there, as a grounds keeper. A house on the property was provided for him. That is where he offed her. My son has been in that house since and said there are still blood stains. My wife actually saw her speed by the house that day.

Waller kills her, wraps her up, and loads her into his bass boat. Heads out on the Mississippi and buries her on a small island. Creepy dude.

two doors down from us about a year ago, a man was slaughtering his wife as i was getting in my car to go to work.

hmmm... i know i am missing some others.

i forgot to mention. the weekend i drove from kc to aurora to meet my daughter for the first time, there was a quadruple homicide two streets down. i was passed out from my daughters mother and my partying that night. (and yes we had a sitter )

this is a little creepy, given i have dug this thread up exactly a year since my last post, regarding knowing someone who i know is a murderer/or witnessed one.

the randy leach mystery girl that i knew, that said she was there, but recanted....
