You are an idiot. First of all, the preseason does not matter. Ever. At least not the record. What does matter is how your players play when matched against similar competition. Which leads to most posters on this boards view going into the season.

At times the starters looked good and the backups looked great. Other times, like the Packers game, the lot of them got handled. Prompting the "Don't freak out, it's only preseason". and "We'll see how the team plays when the games are for real".

Nobody thought things would magically turn around, nobody was even sure that things were bad.

Looks like you completely missed the argument anyone who expressed concern about the Chiefs during the preseason was making on this board.

It had nothing to do with wins/losses during the preseason... it had everything to do with how badly and out of sync the Chiefs starters looked and how little prep time they were getting.
