Thinking about buying a newer muscle car

I like my Subaru Impreza a lot, but I really miss the rumble of a V8. I am starting to assemble a list of newer muscle cars I could potentially buy to replace my Subaru.

Question is, what should I get?

I really like the new 5.0 Mustangs. Always been a fan of Camaros, but not sure I am the biggest fan of the new styling. A Dodge Challenger or Charger would also be nice. Also on my list is an 03-04 Cobra Mustang. I could get the Cobra cheaper, and have a Mustang that actually has an independent rear suspension and a lot of power under the hood.

Any other cars I should consider? What do you all think about the cars listed above? Keep in mind I am looking to spend no more than 30k overall.

But, but you are supposed to be on a first name basis with every mechanic at the dealer shop, are you not?

Yeah, me neither, nor Carlotta, but we just own them.

My 07 had a lifetime power train warranty. I saw a commercial recently that they are bringing the lifetime warranty back.

I think that should give plenty of indication the cars are reliable.

Exactly. I have no I issues with my Charger. And I'm in my 3rd Charger. Love them!

Yeah, I think these Lx cars and their variant like the Ly Challengers are very well designed and manufactured. I really like the changes made to the new Chargers like yours, they look great.

I know Coach just got his second one, but he must be a gluten for punishment just like you and Cannibal!

To be totally honest though, our Nitro has been a lot of trouble. I think it was started on a Friday afternoon, and finished on Monday morning with parts from the reject bin. It was a "program" car and I honestly think that program was a lemon law return. We got it dialed in now though.

I love the Challenger too. But I like having more room.

At some point I'm going to get a classic car again. It will be a 2 door coupe, whatever I end up buying.

I'm keeping the Mopar 11 though.

I have had a few switch problems, like the passenger side window switch. It is a rubber gate blocking an LED from activating a LSR. It was assembled poorly, probably by a 4 year old Chinese kid. After taking the door panel off and taking it all apart and putting it together properly, it works great now.

We have had 3rd brake light assembly, crank sensor, sirius antenna, remote garage door opener, windshield wipers malfunction (later recalled after having to drive on a long trip in the rain with intermittent wipers, mostly off), the window switch, and tailgate switch killing the battery. That was really a pain in the ass, like the crank trigger (I had to find that on my own since it was so intermittent)

Most people would have already driven this thing through a showroom floor, but ours is actually a pretty good car now, especially after the recent software update.

The four door is way more practical, and makes the most sense. You made a very good choice.
My Challenger was an emotional decision, and I wanted to get one before Chrysler went tits up. Thus I didn't wait on the 6 speed or b5 blue availability, that I really wanted. But this one is going to be it and one of my kids will inherit it some day.
