If I thought there was a chance of a legit competition between a drafted QB and Foles, I'd take him.

Hell, I'd take ALEX SMITH under those circumstances.

But this is the NFL and situations like what happened in Seattle least year NEVER happen.

We bring in Foles or Smith and they are GOING to start, no matter what. That's just the nature of the NFL.

Yeah, not enough 1st round picks on that line. Plus they have a liability at TE.

EDIT: And I almost forgot about the fact that he had to carry his running game too...

Umm, I call B.S.. They only reason the Chiefs lost to the Colts in the playoffs was exactly that, he had no defense to stop the Colts ONCE! No punts in the game. Both defenses could not stop the opposing offense, NOT once! The Chiefs lost because as time expired, Peyton had the ball in his hands. If Trent had the ball in his hands, Chiefs win....

And yet, he still did enough to for his team to win ugly that week, if they could have gotten a stop in overtime.

Why do these "the team didn't win" excuses not work for Alex, but they work for Geno and his Big 12 record?

This is a situation I've wondered about. How would you feel if Reid traded a 3rd or 4th round pick for Foles and said "this is my guy. I believe in him and he's going to be a great QB in this league"?
