Geno Smith fans roll call

NEW THREAD HEADER (11/17/12):

The list is gone. We will all be Geno Smith fans when he gets drafted by the Chiefs. For historical documentation's sake, I'll keep the list in a separate post on this thread: http://www.chiefsplanet.com/BB/showp...postcount=3314

WHY GENO SMITH?
If you're wondering if Geno Smith is right for you, check out this brilliant post by Saccopoo:

http://www.chiefsplanet.com/BB/showp...postcount=5388

Next, we have a few GIFs you may be interested in from the Oklahoma game. Insane potential. These are the elite throws that very few QBs can make. What more can I say? Geno Smith can be a franchise QB in the NFL, and the Chiefs need to take a shot on him.

GIF #1:
Spoiler!

GIF #2:
Spoiler!

GIF #3 (My favorite):
Spoiler!

HOW DO WE GET HIM HERE?

Glad you asked. I posted this checklist earlier. It probably belongs in the thread header, and will be updated as the Chiefs close out their season and start a new chapter in their franchise story.

Preparing for Geno Smith's Arrival In KC Checklist

1. [X] Lose games and acquire the #1 overall pick
2. [X] Get Pioli and the Patriot Way cronies the **** out
3. [X] Hire new GM/coach

OPTIONAL (but highly recommended):
4. [ ] Re-sign/tag Bowe, who really wants to play in KC with Geno
5. [ ] Re-sign/tag Albert

I still think Berry ends up being a GD stud. He's finally getting back to 100 percent and he's playing pretty well.

Had he not gotten hurt, I think he's alot farther along at this point. If you remember correctly, towards the end of 2010, he had began to ascend as a cover S.

I have hate for the pick, especially when there were a metric shit ton of safeties in that draft of quality and many of them have substantially outplayed Berry so far. (I really liked Morgan Burnett and TJ Ward that draft and both are, at this point, better than Berry.)

Taking a strong safety with the fifth overall pick was just as deranged as taking a 34 five tech end with the third overall pick in Jackson.
See, I don't have a problem if it's a SS with elite range and man cover skills. I thought Berry would be able to develop into the latter (still think he's quick enough to cover distance well as a a deep safety). If he doesn't produce next year, it is time to move on IMO. Restructure, trade, etc but You need to have at least 3 safeties and 2 ILBs that can play man at a minimum. IMO

If Rex is back, probably not, because he is like Pioli is with Cassel up there in NY. But I think they will take one. Probably round 2.

Okung is playing really well right now and Albert is in the last year of his contract. He may or may not be with the team next season.

So, I'd have to say yes.

Even though I have repeatedly stated that I feel that Albert is finally playing better and should be retained at this point versus playing a rookie.

As well, considering that neither Asamoah (who continually looks like shit) nor Allen have played very well at all this season, an argument could be made that having Okung at LT and Albert at LG and either Ward or Burnett at safety would be a substantially better option at this point than Berry and Asamoah or Allen. But it's irrelevant at this point.

Nope.

He was absolutely atrocious against the Raiders. Benchable level bad.

Guys are routinely getting under his pads.

I can literally see people throwing their chairs at the watch party in the practice facility.
Wright still has Barkley going 7th, which probably won't happen.

If you follow Wright at all, it's his last 2 mocks leading up to the draft (especially the last one) that are nails.

They've REALLY suffered from the shuffling on the line and the lack of a real QB under center.

They're really not that bad if you look at them by themselves, like the way PFF or Football Outsiders do...
