The Rain Man Classic: Worst Chiefs of All-Time

In honor of Rainman's various collections of individuals, both hero and scoundrel, I figured that we should establish who the worst Chiefs of all time were, taking into account only play on the field.

Requirements: 1 player per position.

Offense: LT,LG,C,RG,RT,WR1,WR2,TE,HB,FB,QB
Defense: RDE, NT, 3T, LDE, WLB, MLB, SLB, RCB, LCB, FS, SS

ST:1 KR, 1, P, 1 PR, 1 K, 1 LS, 1 KOS.

Rules: They must have started a minimum of three games for the Chiefs, with the exception of KOS and LS.

Nominations will be taken for two days, wherein a poll of choices will be presented, and the Herman Edwards Memorial All-Time Toilet Bowl Chiefs will be crowned.

Please provide reasoning for your nomination. Illustrate specific failures when necessary, and if possible.

The nominees are:

LT: Jordan Black, G-Rod Walters, Marcus Spears
LG: Bob Simmons, Tom Condon
C: Rudy Niswanger, Jeff Smith, Tom Baugh
RG: Adrian Jones, Brad Budde, George Daney
RT: Kyle Turley, Kevin Sampson, Chris Terry, Chris Bober, Damion McIntosh
HB: Mike Cloud, Rashaan Shehee, Paul Palmer, Greg Hill, Bam Morris, Donnell Bennett, Ethan Horton, James Hadnot, Jewerl Thomas, Billy Jackson
FB: Boomer Grigsby, Ronnie Cruz
WR: Snoop Minnis, Samie Parker, Danan Hughes, Kevin Lockett, Larry Parker, Chris Thomas, Robb Thomas, Barry Pearson, Pete Mandley, Dennis Homan
WR: Sean LaChappelle, Chris Horn, Chris Penn, Jeff Webb, Devard Darling, Lake Dawson
TE: Ed Beckman, Willie Scott, Kris Wilson
QB: Todd Blackledge, Elvis Grbac, Steve Pueller, Steve Bono, Tyler Thigpen, Pete Beathard, Bill Kenney, Steve Fuller

LDE: Turk McBride, Whitney Paul
NT: Thereerunian, Dino Mangiero, Ken Kremer
3T: Ryan Sims, Glenn Dorsey
RDE: Eric Hicks
WLB: Lew Bush, Shawn Barber
MLB: Kendrell Bell, Mike Maslowski, Pat Thomas, Jimbo Elrod, Scott Radecic
SLB: Glen Cadrez, Thomas Howard
RCB: Eric Warfield, Dexter McLeon
FS: Shaunard Harts
SS: Charles Mincy, Bernard Pollard

K: He who shall not be named
P: Dan Stryzinski, Jason Baker, Steve Cheek
KR: Eddie Drummond, Jitter Fields
PR: Eddie Drummond
LS: Ed Perry
KOS: John Baker

On second thought, QB has to go to Todd Blackledge. He failed on so many levels.

I have no memory of that player. Going unnoticed for 8 years is impressive.

He played for 8 years, 1977-1984. You youngsters have no idea how bad the Chiefs were in those days.

Here is the worst QB to ever wear a Chief's uniform IMO. I still think they drafted him to try and sell tickets.

David Duane Jaynes (born December 12, 1952 in Kansas City, Kansas) is a former American football quarterback raised in Bonner Springs, Kansas. He was All-American for the University of Kansas in 1973.

During the early 1970s, Jaynes broke virtually every passing record in KU history. When he left KU, the he was No. 1 in passing, with 5,132 yards (later broken by Frank Seurer). Jaynes still holds the record for most career passing touchdowns, with 35. His most memorable game was in 1973 against Tennessee, when he completed 35 of 58 attempted passes for 394 yards. [1] In 1973 KU finished 7-4-1 and went to the Liberty Bowl. Jaynes finished fourth in the voting that year for the Heisman Trophy.

Jaynes was drafted in the third round (66th oveall) of the 1974 NFL Draft by the Kansas City Chiefs with whom he played two games that season. [3] He was also the first player selected in the inaugural World Football League by the Houston Texans, but never signed with them. [4]

In 2001, he married Cary Grant's widow, Barbara Harris

**oops** sorry, missed the part about starting three games.

This list should be thick at WR.

Sean LaChappelle
Chris Penn
Danan Hughes
Kevin Lockett
Larry Parker
Chris Thomas
Eric Martin can't be considered, as he only started one game. But he was terrible.

Also,

DE Ty Parton
RB Bam Morris
DT Tom Barndt
LT Marcus Spears
RB Donnell Bennett
CB Pat Dennis
DT Eric Downing
LB Lew Bush
Mike Maslowski
Shaunard Harts

There have been a hell of a lot of REAL busts at the defensive tackle position for the Chiefs.

thus far Dorsey would only qualify to an idiot.

And that's where you come into the picture.........
