Colquitt
I was thrilled with picking the punter from Tennessee. In my opinion, he was another great addition to the defense. Too many times last year was the pressure put on our defense to get a three and out so the opposing team would not be within field goal position or be able to run a wide open offense from their own 45 yard line. Colquitt will allow the defense to relax and know that giving up one substantial play does not necessarily convert into points. GREAT PICK! Now get a defensive end, a corner, and a receiver that could make the special teams squad at least and that will mean even a better chance for the DEFENSE!

evidently the chiefs were still in "kicker shock" about missing kaedings last year. So they decided to pick him waaaay early.
Vermeil said. “If you want to draft a specialist, we've learned you'd better draft him one round ahead of where you think you can get him.”

I liked the pick....a lot. If he's even close to performing like good ol' Jerrel, I'd be as happy as a puppy with 2 peters.

Good pick. Compensatory 3rd, which is more like a 4th. Yes, I think the Chiefs learned a lesson missing out on Kaeding last year. I see this as low risk, high reward. Plus he's left footed. The ball spins the opposite way and makes the returner's job more difficult. Remember a few years ago when we were gonna face left footed punters the first few games and DV brought in a left footed punter in TC to give Dante some practice fielding these punts? Before the draft King Carl said he wanted two impact players out of this draft and I think he's potentially already done this. Now we get to Carl's strength, the second day of the draft. Still a chance to find a gem or to. If you listen to what Carl said yesterday, that we were going to draft to fill special team needs, expect lb and db picks.

Let me get this straight, people are happy about spending a 3rd round pick on a punter, that according to Kiper at least, isn't particularly consistent?
