Alex Smith Traded to Chiefs

Well, it looks like the deal is done.

Jay Glazer @JayGlazer
49ers have completed a trade with the Chiefs for Alex Smith, tho can't be official til March 12. Chiefs really made a commitment to Smith

Jay Glazer @JayGlazer
Deal has been agreed upon between Chiefs and 49ers. Compensation unclear but I'm told again Chiefs have made a clear commitment to Smith.

this is not a bad draft class. Jesus H Christ. 2009 was a bad draft class. This class lacks top-shelf prospects but makes up for it with a huge amount of depth.

We will see on draft day I guess. If 2 guys go in the first half of the 1st round then obviously that's not the case.

Jeff Allen always seemed like an odd fit at guard to me. Then again, he seemed like an odd fit as a 2nd round pick to me.

Maybe it is as simple as Dorsey and Reid not thinking that Winston fits their style and they can clear a roster spot for a better/younger player.

The point is, they work for Clark Hunt. The early evidence is they are doing the same ****ing thing the Chiefs have done for 30 years. Find the best excuse not to draft a QB 1st round, get a new hope recycled QB on the roster and sell tickets.

Don't get me wrong, I like what happened this week, but the bottom line is at the most important position on the team, they, Dorsey and Reid have done the same ****ing thing that has been done for 30 years.

The evidence is very ****ing clear to me, they aren't changing my mind until I see them pick a QB in the first round.

If you think that Clark Hunt is telling them what he wants, I'll tell you are 100% wrong. Dorsey and Reid will confer with Clark about players, but Clark never once told either guy that they had to get someone like Alex Smith.

Man that is a total kick in the balls... I was hoping the new regime would have more sack than this...

Disappointing to say the least...

Clark will listen to Reid and Dorsey. He isnt running it. He knows better. And Reid and Dorsey will take a QB sometime throughout the draft

That is what I really want to believe, seriously TBG, I do. But why has the history been what it has been? I don't have an insider connection, just 30 years of actions to look at.

Ok, let's just assume that Carl Peterson didn't have the patience to have the team develop a QB for his 25 drafts, the reason he never drafted a single one in the first. Was it Marty? So lets just dismiss that two decades of evidence, like it never happened. Cool. We will put that on Marty and Carl.

But first thing out of the chute, ***** knowing he has plenty of leeway and time with the fans since he is new, trades for a recycle QB in Cassel. Ok, that is just coincidence that it follows the 26 year established trend, has to be, right?

Ok, so he sticks with the guy so long he fails in four years, and a new regime is brought in. What do they do, to fix the most important position on the field? Yep, same thing, bring in a recycled failure.

Sorry, I own property in Missouri and they are going to have to show me that it isn't ownership dictating this, as the Hunt family has been the only thing consistent for those 30 years. In fact, I think it has pretty much been a trend since the outset.

They are trying to avoid being a Cleveland or Detroit, but in the process avoid being a Pittsburgh or New England.
