I think another thing that might be on the minds of Reid/Dorsey is do they really want Geno possibly going to Oakland and resurrecting that franchise from the grave for the next 10 years?

It looks like all the teams that we hoped would trade for Geno are picking up scrap heap QBs. Could mean a lot of things. We're asking too much in trade, we're taking Geno, Geno has taken a nosedive in value (which seems unlikely after the Combine and his pro day), or something else.

It's looking to me like we're going to be stuck with the #1 (which I've expected all along...). I just can't imagine a team trading any kind of value to get to #1 for any other player in this draft. Either that or we're just going to give the pick away for a song.

Or maybe the other teams know that we are gonna take Geno so they are gonna have to pick of Qbs before they get stuck with nothing.

I could see the Eagles making the trade for him possibly.

I don't think they would have brought Smith in if they were planning on drafting Geno.
It's the whole scenario of Kaepernick all over again. What's the point from the Chiefs FO perspective looking at it if they are Smith? He is just gonna be looking over his shoulder from the get go.

Everybody might say good, then that gets rid of Smith, but that was stupid then to bring him in, in the first place (I know, Duh!)and waste the picks. If he thinks he is just a two year QB....What happens if he shits his pants in the first year? Does Geno go in already? Then two draft picks down the drain?

I don't want the Chiefs to take an OT #1 overall cause I can't get the Tony Mandarich pick out of my head. But, to spend two picks on a QB, then take one #1 overall and probably look at him sitting for two years....and if not....the scenario above. Man these guys have sure focked things up. No?

"We're taking Geno" was possibility #2.
