Official 2012-2013 NBA Thread

Looks like James Harden has been To the Rockets for Jeremey Lamb, Kevin Martin and future picks. Plus... this is a general NBA thread.

There were basically two incarnations of the Bulls teams. The second one was better with Kukoc and Rodman, but Horace Grant was also a damn good player in the early 90s.

The idea that they can be compared any other way fairly and accurately is absurd. They are facts...the rest of it is anecdotal and opinionated.

MJ's Bulls teams lost six consecutive times in the playoffs before they finally won a championship. Remarkably similar to LeBron's teams.
Do you think stats alone could accurately compare say Oscar Robertson to Lebron or MJ?

You know what I was talking about Montana\MJ never lost a SB\NBA Finals. That is one of the main reasons why they are considered GOAT's.

Lets be real here. MJ probably WOULD have won every title in the 90s had he not

A) retired the first time
B) Reinsdorf paid them all one more time not to retire the second time

does anyone realistically think the Bulls would have won every title from 1990-1999 had Jordan came back for one more year AND had he not retired right in the middle of his two three-peats?

So the whole "Kobe wants to get 6 so he can be like MJ" thing cracks me up. MJ only got 6 because that's all he felt like getting.
I think they could've won more, but I don't know about sweeping the decade. Nobody's ever done that. Magic went to 9 finals and couldn't win them all. And the two years the Bulls missed the finals, the Rockets were good. Olajuwon was a beast. It's really a shame we never got to see them go head-to-head.

And during their last run, they weren't the 96/97 team anymore. The Pacers went toe-to-toe with them in 98, that was an epic series. 99 was a shortened season though so that would've helped them.

No, i'm just not a brainwashed bundle of sticksggot like you that feeds into the media's BS. There's nothing about this game that's exciting, it's the same old stale all star weekend.

Obviously not. Comparing their stats is certainly a hell of a lot more beneficial than comparing nothing at all, though.

So basically you're setting the bar at a place LeBron can never reach. Convenient.

So Dwight isn't even allowed to have fun at an AS game now without catching blame? He's kind of brought it on himself, but this is a bit ridiculous.

My point and I belive zilla's point is that stats only tell part of the story and you agree.

It is not convenient it is just the standard we set for our superstars. There is people that think Elway is the GOAT but he lost 3 SB's and played like shit in them. Tom Brady has great stats and has been in 5 SB's, winning 3, but I wouldn't put him in the same class as Montana.
