Iowa State and Tech without the pirate are both weak links. Also, I'm not ready to anoint Baylor a powerhouse quite yet. Then, there's KSU after Snyder. Lots of teams that could be at a crossroads in the next few years. Makes for compelling storylines.

You're the best team ever picked to win 4.5 games.

Yeah, you only lost to Missouri 52-17 last year.

The one game we were never in(for some reason) last year. Might of been a little different if Jantz wasn't playing hurt. How about #2 Oklahoma State, with our starting RB and QB both on the sidelines?

Iowa State won every close game last year. They were outscored by 100 points on the season and only won one game by more than four points (excluding OT wins). 6 wins last year was a crazy fluke.

At the end of regulation, ISU literally led by a total of 8 points in five of their six wins. Kudos for winning all of the close games, but you were completely outclassed in half of your games.

ONE GAME? You trailed Texas 34-0 at halftime. When, exactly, were you in that game? (Texas only completed seven passes in that entire game, BTW.

aTm was up on you 30-7. That wasn't exactly a nail-biter.

Baylor put up 21 in the second quarter alone and led 35-14 midway through the third. They didn't exactly lean at the tape.

Your average margin in losses was -22.

We actually hurt ourselves all year. Bad drops, penalties, and a stupid OC that out smarted himself instead of just doing what was working. We graduated our two WR's that only caught around 50% of their passes(everyone else was 70+%), our two OL who got the most penalties(didn't fit the scheme well)also graduated.

The weak links are gone and being replaced by guys who are more athletic. The starting QB is healthy and will know the offense and receivers better his second year. Our OC should be an upgrade. We hired Washington States(last years #9 passing offense) OC to be our WR coach/passing game coordinator. Our has moved around the offense the last few years, TE's WR's, and ST's all seen improvement while he was their position coach, I see no reason why the QB's and offense wont follow the same tradition. He is a previous OC turned HC, so he must have been pretty decent his last stint as OC to get that promotion.. hes also a former QB.

Iowa State will be more consistent this year. A lot of talent coming back, and even more young talent on the depth chart. Overall the biggest, fastest, and most depth I've ever seen in Ames. If we stick to our strengths of defense and running, we are last years Kansas State.

Best case scenario is you are last year's Iowa State.

If you actually watched the games you would see what I mean by it. But notice you are pointing to all games with a hurt QB. Jantz' running ability was a huge reason why hes so good, something he couldn't do in those games. His passing was off last year due to not fully knowing the whole offense or having that chemistry with the receivers... he will be better. Players make their biggest jump after their second spring game, hes ready for that jump.

Just wait and see, Iowa State gets past the six win mark this year, and I'm guessing eight wins.

His 216 career rushing yards really make him a dual threat. Look out for that guy...he gets 2.6 yards per carry. Shit, almost half of that came in one game against a MVC team.

Face it. The team was 3-5 when he started and was outscored by 103 points in those games.

Without him, you were 3-2 and plus 16.
