Call of Duty will go head-to-head with Battlefield 3 in 2011.

The third game in the series, which will be shown to press during the Game Developers Conference in San Francisco next month, is set for release this coming fall, Electronic Arts confirmed.

The publisher revealed the first teaser trailer for the game on its official website tonight. The trailer, which contains no actual gameplay, displays quick cuts of helicopters, ground troops, tanks and fighter jets.

Additional details courtesy of the official Battlefield Blog confirm a full single-player and co-op campaign, jets, prone, and 64-player multiplayer for the PC version. The Frostbite 2 engine will power the game and a Limited Edition will be revealed around GDC.

Developer DICE confirmed earlier this morning it was canceling the release of Battlefield 1943 and the Battlefield: Bad Company 2 Onslaught pack for PC.

not so much at the accent, but at the actual commentary.
a few no so SFW bits, but overall pretty safe.

Yeah, that's what I've always wondered. They say "If you can't fly then don't get in a plane." How the F am I supposed to learn!?! Also, now that everyone else has leveled up their planes, it's damn near impossible to get in the jet and get some gun kill to level yourself up.

so, what kind of headsets/mics do people use or recommend?

I've never played with headphones or mic before, and I think it's time I lept into the modern gaming world.

hopefully there are some decent ones for around 45-75 smackaroos.

I have the Turtle Beach x41's and they're ****ing money. I'm sure they're pretty cheap by now.

I have the exact same ones. Worth the buy. You hear everything real clear and its got controls to adjust volume levels for game and chat. Highly recommended.

I got the DPX21s for Christmas and I'm loving them. The surround sound is awesome.

I have these as well and can vouche for them being great. They're also cheaper on Amazon.

I'm intrigued by the surround sound ones though. I'm finding that the sound as far as footsteps and such isn't as helpful in BF3 as it was BC2. Wondering if surround sound would help.

I sort of mimicked the #1 guy. I had 4 kills in a row all with one shot, headshot kills with my sniper rifle bolt action. It was great. Then I panicked and became inaccurate.
