Chiefs Defense Has Fared Well vs. Chargers QB Philip Rivers

The Chiefs defense has fared well in QB Philip Rivers’ three previous starts against KC. Rivers owns a 52.8 rating in those contests, completing 54 of 108 passes (50.0%), while throwing two TDs and five INTs. The Chiefs have forced a pair of INTs off Rivers in their last two meetings with the Chargers. Kansas City is 32-4 (.889) at Arrowhead dating back to ‘95 when the club forces two or more INTs, including a 4-0 mark against San Diego. Rivers owns a 3-3 mark in games when throwing two or more INTs. After throwing just nine INTs in 2006, Rivers has been picked off 12 times in 2007.
KC’s defense ranks eighth in the NFL, limiting opposing passers to a 75.3 rating this season. Rivers has been held under a rating of 75.0 in seven games this season. Last year, KC held Rivers to a career-low 12.4 rating at San Diego (12/17/06). Rivers owns a 9-1 record when compiling a 100.0 rating or better, including a 32-14 win vs. Baltimore (11/25) when he had a 119.8 mark.

It doesn't matter because LT is going to kill us. All Rivers will have to do is complete little dump offs to Gates and LT. We're going to get killed Sunday.
