Geno Smith fans roll call

NEW THREAD HEADER (11/17/12):

The list is gone. We will all be Geno Smith fans when he gets drafted by the Chiefs. For historical documentation's sake, I'll keep the list in a separate post on this thread: http://www.chiefsplanet.com/BB/showp...postcount=3314

WHY GENO SMITH?
If you're wondering if Geno Smith is right for you, check out this brilliant post by Saccopoo:

http://www.chiefsplanet.com/BB/showp...postcount=5388

Next, we have a few GIFs you may be interested in from the Oklahoma game. Insane potential. These are the elite throws that very few QBs can make. What more can I say? Geno Smith can be a franchise QB in the NFL, and the Chiefs need to take a shot on him.

GIF #1:
Spoiler!

GIF #2:
Spoiler!

GIF #3 (My favorite):
Spoiler!

HOW DO WE GET HIM HERE?

Glad you asked. I posted this checklist earlier. It probably belongs in the thread header, and will be updated as the Chiefs close out their season and start a new chapter in their franchise story.

Preparing for Geno Smith's Arrival In KC Checklist

1. [X] Lose games and acquire the #1 overall pick
2. [X] Get Pioli and the Patriot Way cronies the **** out
3. [X] Hire new GM/coach

OPTIONAL (but highly recommended):
4. [ ] Re-sign/tag Bowe, who really wants to play in KC with Geno
5. [ ] Re-sign/tag Albert

Couple things:

We, the Chiefs, absolutely need a QB, we haven't had a great one in a while. So he fits a need there.

And he's going to ****ing love KC, because it's beautiful. Nothing is more beautiful than a parking lot full or crazed fans, with the smell of bbq and beer in the air.

I know the Arrowhead experience has changed, but you cannot convince me that with the right moves it won't get back to what it once was. The city wants it back and I'm positive the fans will return. But nothing, IMO, is more beautiful than a December morning , sitting in LOT A, with a hot tattie, BBQing something, with music blaring and smoke filling the lot. Not a damn thing.

Damn it, i've got myself excited.

Some of the best times in my life have occurred with my dad and my grandpa in that parking lot.

I remember coming to a game, don't remember the opponent, when I was pretty young and the seats were covered in ice before the game, and it was about 15 degrees. It was awesome.

I remember being at the monday night game when we beat the Steelers I believe it was in overtime. The Bronco game where Montana beat Marino.

A Sunday night game when Green torched Bledsoe and the Bills. It sucks that people who are newer to fandom haven't gotten to experience the true Arrowhead and what it can be.

But they will.

Oh, yes.

For those worried about Geno playing against top competition Ben Rothlesinberger played in the MAC, Steve Young played in Mountain West/WAC, Kurt Warner played in FCS. Also Stanfords record with John Elway 4-7, 6-5, 4-7, 5-6.
ALSO, IF YOU DON'T THINK WE NEED TO FLY QB BANNERS, YOU'RE WRONG.

I've been on the fence with Smith, but the interview let's me know that he is a Leader, and we need that more than anything in the huddle. You've converted me you bastard. ~ Alan

And see, that is easy to say, unless you hear his whole theory...then it becomes plausible..... but then again...who amongst us has the clarity to really judge anothers worthiness....?

Regardless, I am on the Geno bandwagon!

The bottom line is this:

There isn't a more popular move that Clark could make than drafting Geno Smith first overall.

Why?

Because part of the reason (if not most of the reason) the SOC half of the fanbase exists is because they want to win a Super Bowl and they believe that the way to do that is to draft and develop a QB.

But what about the other half of the fanbase? Don't they want a LT or Manti Te'o? Yes, they do. But these are the same people that think we should support the team NO MATTER WHAT, ala DEB ALL CAPS. So while they're scared of taking a QB now, or they don't think there's a QB worth taking, once Clark pulls the trigger on Smith he's a Chief and they're instantly "all in".

It's a win-win for Clark. An absolute no-brainer.
