With the DayZ standalone playable alpha release looming, I thought I would check out the mod version of the game. http://dayzdev.tumblr.com/

If you dont know, DayZ is an open world survival zombie game modification based off of the military sim ArmA 2 games. www.dayzmod.com

Basically its hardcore mode survival against zombies and even more dangerous, other players.

I have been watching vids for months and took advantage of a steam sale today to pick up ArmA 2.

Anyone playing DayZ right now? Servers? Thoughts? I have a teamspeak we can use!

Would have done last night and tonight but currently my little dachshund has escaped and i have been basically driving around for 2 days looking for her. I live in a msall town and she has been sighted as recently as noon today just a few blocks from my house.

TLDR - Tonight if I find my dog, otherwise I prob wont feel like it.

Still need to make them roam, but its coming along. I've seen a few more Zombies in towns which is good. One town i couldnt get near because there were to many on me and i had no weapons. Hard to Mike Tyson 4-5 zombies at a time.

grrr. after about 30 min of run simulator i go to a town that has little zombies, im decking out my character. Zombie aggro's, the game locks up. Now im scared to log back in. I fear that all my work i just did is for nothing lol

Logged back in, and yep dead. So im trying to get some gear again and im in a barn look for anything, i jumped off the ladder from about 3 feet high and my dude dies lol

WTF did they do to zombies? you cant kill them or what? i tried crowbar, fists, bats, axe's. ****ers just wont die. They fall to the ground, but get right back up! Shit is ridiculous. Sit there for 15 min fighting the 2 zombies before i just gave up.

LOL - the new stable patch has LOTS of issues, all of which of course are because of new systems blah blah blah, but its making it tough for me to play the alpha right now.

Yeah, i just seen on their reddit page that Melee is completely broken. I guess its not the zombies that are overpowered. Melee isnt working correctly. I been dying left and right to zombies as there are alot, even if you venture out into the forrest area, you will still encounter a zombie, it wasnt like that before, but in towns, if one zombie see's you, there are usually 2-3 that follow (thats a good thing) but you gotta be able to kill them. lol

i was playing early finally got a damn weapon gun. Only a 22 rifle but at least i got bullets lol. I also was setting up them Chem lights in building and hiding outside hoping people would see the light inside and search it lol

I got one of the new guns too that MKP or whatever its called, no bullets for it yet though. Im hiding out by a police station so hopefully i can get it some bullets. I love that they randomly spawn you pretty much anywhere now. I have no ****ing clue where im.
