Time to trade Dwayne Bowe

I don't care to who. It just needs to happen.

Many people aren't going to like this and that's fine.

But for the amount of money this guy is making....overall he's done more harm than good for this team. Not to mention who knows how long he'll get suspended for after his court ruling.

Today was the last straw for me. He really played like he just didn't care. Yes the ref completely missed the grabbing of the jersey, but Bowe's effort today was terrible and It's been at best sub par all season.

Bowe doesn't have elite speed. Ok so he's a possession receiver...problem is he can't catch the damn ball. Whether or not the stars align for us, reality is, is that this team was still in contention for HFA and a 1st rd bye in the playoffs. Bowe doesn't care. he just wants to point to his ****ing name on the back of his jersey and think he's a badass.

**** Dwayne Bowe. I'm tired of his shit and lackluster play.

Letting the ball get into his body as he stands there waiting for it is weak. Bowe is a vet and should know that he needs to attack the ball and extend for it.. but his effort level lacks. Avery has done this many times as well... and it causes a defender to close on and knock the ball free. Won't count technically as a drop.. but probably should.

As is often the case, the opinions get extreme, and there can be some truth to both sides.
Except when it comes to Smith getting the ball there on time. No one wants to put the late passes on Smith. It's all Bowe.

If a pass is late, it can be due to the QB being hesitant or slow with his progressions, sure. It could also be that the target is not the 1st or 2nd read.. so yeah, the ball will get to that latter target later. When it comes down to it, it really doesn't matter which circumstance.

If Bowe runs an 8 yard curl, he knows the coverage surrounding him before he turns. If the pass isn't on its way just as he turns, he knows this too. So when these "late" passes are on the way, Bowe should be able to assume that coverage is closing.. so extend your arms.. take a step forward.. and get the ball.

No matter why the throw is late, Bowe has to have more situational awareness +/or a better effort to do his job.

Oh Jesus ****ing Christ.

Go ahead....cut Bowe or trade him. And then watch as McCluster and Avery are your top WRs for Smith to throw to. And then when Smith does the same shit....you can blame it all on them.

Anyone watching the games that has seen a player make multiple obvious drops only to have most of them not counted knows that the stat is poorly tallied.

precisely.. seems they only count the ones that are ridiculously obvious, wide open screwups.. and that's if they even get all of them.

So is it poorly tallied for everyone, or just Bowe?

Hint: If it's poorly tallied for everyone, Bowe still isn't anywhere near the league leaders in drops.

Bottom line:

Bowe has been this fanbase's whipping boy from Day One. They don't like that he points at his jersey. They don't like that he's said and done some stupid things off the field.

But this drops thing is out of control. There are a TON of GREAT receivers that have WAY more drops than Bowe does, but no one thinks poorly of them. For whatever reason, it makes people feel better to act as if Bowe is the Anti-Christ, and the only WR in the league that drops passes.

Remarkable exaggeration on your part, but it's at least amusing. Bowe's a good dude, and as an LSU graduate, I love me some Tigers that hit the pros. The issue is.. people know how good Bowe CAN be.. but he does have a Randy Moss like quality about him. KC paid him well... and now it does seem like he is half-assing it on many plays. The fans have a right to be a bit disturbed by this. He's such a capable player, but he is rather lazy. I was expecting a great and productive connection from Smith to Bowe. Bowe is just not making the special catches or giving the impression that he is a go-to target.

Randy Moss like quality? Did you ever see Moss out there busting his ass blocking for RBs?

sure, I have.. inconsistent at best. Bowe does give far more effort than Moss on run blocks. That wasn't remotely the point, and I think you are clever enough to know that much. As far as route-running and radius catching? The Moss that SF had and the Bowe that KC has are very similar on.
