Geno Smith fans roll call

NEW THREAD HEADER (11/17/12):

The list is gone. We will all be Geno Smith fans when he gets drafted by the Chiefs. For historical documentation's sake, I'll keep the list in a separate post on this thread: http://www.chiefsplanet.com/BB/showp...postcount=3314

WHY GENO SMITH?
If you're wondering if Geno Smith is right for you, check out this brilliant post by Saccopoo:

http://www.chiefsplanet.com/BB/showp...postcount=5388

Next, we have a few GIFs you may be interested in from the Oklahoma game. Insane potential. These are the elite throws that very few QBs can make. What more can I say? Geno Smith can be a franchise QB in the NFL, and the Chiefs need to take a shot on him.

GIF #1:
Spoiler!

GIF #2:
Spoiler!

GIF #3 (My favorite):
Spoiler!

HOW DO WE GET HIM HERE?

Glad you asked. I posted this checklist earlier. It probably belongs in the thread header, and will be updated as the Chiefs close out their season and start a new chapter in their franchise story.

Preparing for Geno Smith's Arrival In KC Checklist

1. [X] Lose games and acquire the #1 overall pick
2. [X] Get Pioli and the Patriot Way cronies the **** out
3. [X] Hire new GM/coach

OPTIONAL (but highly recommended):
4. [ ] Re-sign/tag Bowe, who really wants to play in KC with Geno
5. [ ] Re-sign/tag Albert

Is he a 1st round pick? Yeah. But he's not a top 10 pick. Whatever team takes him in the 1st round is going to be asking a lot from him. He's not better than Patrick Willis. He's more along the lines of Luke Kuechly.

And that's coming from a ND homer. Te'o is my 2nd favorite ND player......EVER.

I kind of hope your boy gets caught smoking weed and falls to the Chiefs at #33 overall. No offense.

Yeah. And I should probably qualify that part of my "overrated" bit is the fact that he's an ILB being talked about in the top 10.

And maybe you'll disagree with this, you watch them closer than I do, but while I think he's a good player, he's not the be-all, end-all that the game broadcasts and ESPN make him out to be. It's almost detrimental to the rest of that ND front 7 the way he's talked about, because they as a group may be playing as well as any I've seen recently.

I honestly wouldn't even mind if we traded up a little back into the 1st round to grab him. I think he'd be a great fit in the 3-4 next to DJ. He could go as high as 7-8. He could drop as far 20. If there was a team that would be a perfect fit.....it'd probably be the Bears.

Te'o gets talked about so much because Tuitt, Lewis-Moore and Nix played ****ing lights out. I've already talked about in another thread (so I won't go on about it here)....but I would love it if we drafted Tuitt or Nix next year (not in the 1st). They're both perfect fits for the 3-4 and I see a lot of J.J. Watt in Stephon Tuitt.

And this is the true ND homer coming out of me.....but after we draft Geno Smith at #1.....I'd love to trade in front of Atlanta and draft Tyler Eifert. ND didn't use him like he should have been used. That's only if we re-sign Bowe and keep Breaston. I think you roll with Bowe and Baldwin outwide.....Breaston in the slot and Eifert at the TE position.

And the idea that nobody is projecting Geno #1 is patently false.

Scott Wright has Geno going to KC #1 overall.

Dan Shonka/Ourlads has Geno #1 overall.

GBN has Geno going to KC #1 overall.

David Daniels, Rick Weiner, and Mike Hoag (TBR) all have Geno going to KC #1 overall.

Rob Rang and Dane Brugler (CBS Sports) have Geno going #1 overall.

Rick Weiner has Geno #1 overall.

Walterfootball has Geno going to KC #1 overall.

Stephon Tuitt is a stud, plain and simple.

The ONLY problem that I have with draft Eifert, specifically when we're talking about the Chiefs, is that I think he falls in the range of the 1st round where we're giving up too many spots to trade down to get him and giving up too many spots to trade up to get him.

Atlanta should end up with a 1st round bye.......so that would put them at least at what? The 28-30 range in the 1st round? Walterfootball has Eifert going to the Falcons at #31 right now. Charlie (the other mock drafter) has him going to the Seahawks at #26?

The Bucs gave up 25 spots in the 4th round to move up 5 spots (from the 2nd to the 1st round).

And that's even thinking that Eifert would go in the 1st round. There were a lot of mock drafts that had Coby Fleener going in the 1st round and the Colts got him at the top of the 2nd to go with Luck.

I think Eifert is a superior prospect to Fleener and could see him going around #20. That's pretty far to trade up for a TE when there's likely to be good TE prospects available at our spot.
