Geno Smith fans roll call

NEW THREAD HEADER (11/17/12):

The list is gone. We will all be Geno Smith fans when he gets drafted by the Chiefs. For historical documentation's sake, I'll keep the list in a separate post on this thread: http://www.chiefsplanet.com/BB/showp...postcount=3314

WHY GENO SMITH?
If you're wondering if Geno Smith is right for you, check out this brilliant post by Saccopoo:

http://www.chiefsplanet.com/BB/showp...postcount=5388

Next, we have a few GIFs you may be interested in from the Oklahoma game. Insane potential. These are the elite throws that very few QBs can make. What more can I say? Geno Smith can be a franchise QB in the NFL, and the Chiefs need to take a shot on him.

GIF #1:
Spoiler!

GIF #2:
Spoiler!

GIF #3 (My favorite):
Spoiler!

HOW DO WE GET HIM HERE?

Glad you asked. I posted this checklist earlier. It probably belongs in the thread header, and will be updated as the Chiefs close out their season and start a new chapter in their franchise story.

Preparing for Geno Smith's Arrival In KC Checklist

1. [X] Lose games and acquire the #1 overall pick
2. [X] Get Pioli and the Patriot Way cronies the **** out
3. [X] Hire new GM/coach

OPTIONAL (but highly recommended):
4. [ ] Re-sign/tag Bowe, who really wants to play in KC with Geno
5. [ ] Re-sign/tag Albert

I put this together for those interested in IQ, Pocket Presence, Progressions, and Windows.
The defense knows WV needs 5 yards for a first down, and they apply the correct formation to defend it.
Geno goes through his progressions and finds the open receiver anyway.

Cassel would've looked right at Bowe and just waited for him to get to his break in that crossing pattern. (granted, I don't recall if the chiefs have ever ran a 5 wr set)

I still think that Alex Smith has a lot more promise than Geno. Alex has been a proven winner that was one of the best in the league until he got benched. He worked in the same type of system as we did and I think that he would be the best option at this point. I know that people are really reluctant to trade for another quarterback, but I just feel he is the best option at this point.

Geno is simply a system quarterback. Look at all the Texas Tech QB's. They put up huge numbers, but haven't worked out in the NFL, because it was the system, not necessarily the talent. I feel this is the same situation. He also had the fourth best passer rating in the NFL. I guess I don't see where all the hate is coming from seeing as people have agreed with me in the past, but to each their own.

And holy ****ing shit man, am I not the only one who was blown away by the play at 2:43? That TD is as impressive as hell with 3 blitzers in his face.

SNR, you need to watch that. Holy hell. Can someone make a gif of that play?

Geno is by far the best QB in this class. I've seen multiple breakdowns of the top 5 or so and he is so much more of a complete Qb than the others.

Awesome article, but some of the comments are driving me up a wall. You can't have a better prospect in this draft than Geno.

It doesn't matter what HC/OC you bring in, Geno can make all of the throws. That is a luxury you want out of your Franchise QB; in the event our OC doesn't work out for whatever reason. Nothing is more worthy of a 1st round pick than a QB who won't pigeon hole you into an offense.

Geno can do it all. I hadn't seen this pass yet but, for reasons stated in the article, this impressed the hell out of me:

The man can, not only stretch the field vertically and horizontally, but he can do it with extreme accuracy.

I can't believe all the pro-Glennon fans over there. Is it because Kiper put him up so high or what? Honestly, I haven't seen much of him, what gives with this guy?

It's because we have a fanbase that's been trained for 20 years to completely devalue the quarterback position, who think "value" isn't finding the best quarterback available, but rather finding the best bargain available.

Also the average fan doesn't put in time to research on their own. They will believe whatever kiper and mcshay feed them.

Ask most people WHY geno isn't worthy of a top pick and the only answer you will get is a generic answer that they have heard from the media.

Guess he was late to the party too!! I will say that, of course, Geno has NEVER read a NFL defense....but what college player has? His intelligence is evident and he WILL read NFL defenses very well!
