No.... talent and room to grown into an Elite QB.

There is little doubt that Huard has talent.... otherwise he would have been bagging groceries or selling insurance a long time ago.

But there are 2 things that Croyle has which Huard does not.

1. A cannon arm.

2. Time to grow into the position.

Croyle might very well turn out to be a bust.... or in a few years he might be a franchise QB. Croyle still has years left in him to find out.

Huard on the other hand has already blown his load and shown that he is what he is.... a career back-up. No shame in that either.

Brodie Croyle was a Third Round pick.
We can't afford to make a two-year commitment to him just to see if he's our QBOTF.

That brings up a good point.

Sine he wasnt a high draft pick, your right, the Chiefs dont have to wait as long for him to develop. (they dont have as much invested in him as a 1st round QB would have)

So whats a fair amount of time to invest in him to see if he will ever be something?

Croyle's situation may be a little different compared to most 3rd rounders. Apparently, his injury history had an impact on his draft position. Nevertheless, in my book, one season should do it, Mr. Deberg_1990. After a year of starts, there will be sufficient film on him to determine if he has the goods.

Assuming, that is, he is afforded some semblance of pass protection and run game. Otherwise, we'll probably never know which is probably how this whole deal is going to turn out and he'll wind up going to another franchise and blossoming into a superstar.
