ANyone else still want to TANK the season for a better draft pick?

Say the words, and join my ignore list:

"we should tank this season for a better draft pick"

*************************
Let this thread stand as a testimony to traitors
and cowards who, at a time of peril , chose to
abandon the fight and wish upon our great, and
holy Chiefs, to lose games and give up the fight.

By shunning them and making their words vanish
from the computer screen, we say unto them:

WE WILL WIN

We have not given up the will to fight. We are not
sackless, gutless weasels who run crying home to
mama to suck on her stretched out floppy teet
when times get rough.

We shun you, and your words are now gone from
our lives, never to waste our time or energy again.
We acknowledge that your only purpose is to troll,
and cause disharmony, and therefore the best way
to deal with you is to banish you from the pages of
history.

Last year Pioli got himself a mulligan with Cassel with the injury. Obiviously we should have done more to address it but with Pioli's love affair the injury made it easy for him to say let us roll with him again.

But more games like today will not contribute to Cassel sticking around. The fact that we seemed interested in Manning shows even Pioli knows Cassel's time here is drawing near to an end.

Our overall team talent was on display today. I would rather go 10-6 and trade the farm for position to take a first round QB. Barkley or Smith are the only ones so far I see as worth trading way way way up for. Maybe Tyler Wilson would come cheap.

Exactly.....

Games like the 1st two losses have a MUCH higher chance of that...

Furthermore, who gives a shit about draft position? It's been proven time again that it's not where you pick, it's who you pick. If the Chiefs pick 20th in the 2013 draft, there is nothing whatsoever that precludes them from giving up draft choices in order to move up and take a QB.

This team is a legitimate QB away from a deep trip into the playoffs. I don't give a shit how they obtain a Franchise QB, just ****ing DO IT already. Trade the farm. I don't give a ****.

Plus, there are free agents and plenty of college free agents to fill out the bottom of the roster, which is pretty much where the Chiefs are at, outside of QB (and Belcher and as much as he's average at best, it's just not that big of a weakness).

Obtain a real QB and the Chiefs will get a 4 year pass.
In theory that is fine. The issue is who is actually making that pick. Do you think the Chiefs having a decent season means Pioli likes Cassel still? If so, that affects who we pick. If you believe Pioli isn't one to go trade for a QB, that affects who we pick to. Pioli is a real factor in this scenario.

The Don does not like it when you bust the arm of one of his prize draft picks who is actually better than what a lot of people give him credit for.

Personally I don't see how it couldnt be true....The 1st two games were easy to blame on the defense and special teams......this WIN was made possible mainly by everyone else OTHER than Cassel...

Plus

Well, at least if our team is decent enough to win with Cassel, when we get that next QB he can step in to a solid situation....

So rooting for losses to me is just utterly lame.

In theory, a first round QB will be a franchise QB. In reality, only 30% end up being that. Dane is right. IF there is a QB we really like, we need to go get him. It doesn't matter where we pick.

Exactly.

When's the last time the Steelers or Pats picked in the top 10?...

Denver rookie QB John Elway, on Jack Lambert, after Lambert and the Steelers knocked Elway out of his first game as a pro (1983).

Doesn't it get tiring wanting to lose for a better draft position after the first couple of games of each season? What a defeatist mentality that is! I want this team to win! There is tons of talent on this team. We just need an average QB to better exploit it.

I'm rooting for them still. If they had lost today it would be a different story, but as it stands they play the Chargers next week, and if they win that, could very well sit atop the division after Week 4. I need to see "winning the division" as an extreme long shot before I can really worry about draft pick.

I am trying to say that if you don't trust Pioli, or fear that he would stick with Cassel if the Chiefs have any kind of average year, then it would make you want to have a season that forces Pioli to draft a QB. A season where it was beyond cut and dry how bad Cassel is. A season where you got a high enough draft pick where you wouldn't have to trade up if you feared Pioli would never do so.

If you don't worry about those things then losses wouldn't really matter. To me I don't know what the hell its going to take for Pioli to do something. I do worry about what kind of a season it would take for him to move Cassel. I would love for the Chiefs to win and still know that the QB situation will be fixed. I just don't feel like I can trust Pioli with that duty.

Look Dude, I have NO control over who the Chiefs draft, sign, start or play. I'm not going to wish "ill will" upon the franchise so that they fire Pioli, cut Cassel, etc. Either that shit happens or it doesn't.

I don't have time for that type of nonsense.
